Urban Intellectuals 1.0 APK requires following permissions:
Allows applications to discover and pair bluetooth devices.
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows an application to write to external storage.
Allows an application to read from external storage.
Allows an application to initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call.
Allows an app to access approximate location.
Allows an app to access precise location.
Allows an application to record audio.
Allows an application to read the user's contacts data.
Allows an application to write the user's contacts data.
Allows applications to change network connectivity state.
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.
Allows applications to connect to paired bluetooth devices.
Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Allows an app to use fingerprint hardware.
Required to be able to access the camera device.

3 ★ The app itself is awesome. Very informative. The only thing I don't like is that it is asking permissions to my (sms) text messages. Why? I do not think it is necessary for the app to have access. I see that it has already access to the bluetooth function and the camera. I really don't like that. I'll just uninstall it for now.
5 ★ Love this app it informs..reaches..and teaches about what's going on in the black community it high light positive stories on are black youth especially when it's so much negativity on the news I open the app every day and learn something new my kids love it as well they have quizzes in which you learn and have fun with family and friends this app is highly recommended!!!!
1 ★ This app has no answers just questions and speculations about black people. Never gives the proof, never gives the answers to the questions it raises. Delete this app

3 ★ Needs work, I love the core purpose for this app, making it easier for black people to attain information and storied about us that are not shared on mainstream media. However, once the app is opened it is a completely black screen, with only the title at the top a share button on the right and what looks like a menu button on the left where you can make a selection of which category of news stories you'd like to view. It's very slow in response to selection and attaining the stories selected, so app manuveration and response needs work. Also what's with the ads taking over the entire screen? Annoying. With those fixes, this would be an app I'd recommend to others.
5 ★ Of all the things we dont hear about because it doesnt make it to local news. Adds are a nuisance but once your around them, smooth sailing
3 ★ App wont rotate screen, keep getting pop ups to "join the family" even though I already subscribed. Ads are too big and too in the middle of the story.

5 ★ I learned about it from fb so I decided to install it but it won't work . I did like all the info being given but since it won't work I uninstalled. Needs work
