Description
Ali ibn Musa ibn Ja'far, known as Imam Reza (148-203q), the eighth Imam of the Shi'ite Tana Aṣari. Imam Reza spent 20 years imamate coinciding with the caliphate of Harun al-Rashid (10 years), Mohammed Amin (about 5 years), Ma'mun (5 years). Ma'mun Abbasi forced him to Khorasan and reluctantly became his crown prince. The Hadith of Sel'l-al-Dahab, which is quoted in Neyshabur. Ma'mun was among him and other religious leaders of the debates, which led everyone to admit to his superiority and knowledge.
The Prophet was testified to Ma'moun in Tous. His shrine is the shrine of Muslims in Mashhad, and millions go on pilgrimage annually to Mashhad.
