Westlife is a boy band from Ireland consisting of Shane Filan, Brian McFadden, Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne, and Mark Feehily. They were formed on July 3, 1998 and disbanded on June 23, 2012. Westlife also won ITV's "Record of the Year" four times in a row with their singles "Flying Without Wings", "My Love", "Mandy", and "You Raise Me Up". In Indonesia their debut album won 20 times platinum award for sales of more than one million copies. Westlife holds the record for the best-selling foreign album in the history of Indonesian music and is also the only international artist who is able to sell an album in the top one million units in Indonesian territory.

Westlife was unable to penetrate the music industry in the United States, even though their debut single, "Swear it Again", was at that time quite popular on US radio and MTV. On the MTV TRL program, the video clip "Swear it Again" has been requested several times, and entered the "hot 100" chart in one of the 20th edition magazines in the US (Billboard Magazine) in the summer. Their debut album failed after it was released in 2000 and that is the only album they released there. This band is very famous in Asia, Europe, Australia, and several countries in America besides the US.

Like other boy bands, their albums are aimed at teenage girls, although there are also their male fans. Westlife has performed several times in several places in the gay community.

In October 2011 Westlife announced that they would disband after their tour was completed in June 2012.
