5 ★ I like it better than the actual remote. Phone screen offers features that are not available on physical remote, especially for text input. Looks just like the physical remote but since on the phone, the buttons are all bigger & easier to see. Very responsive. Wifi connected, so don't have to point at the TV. Multiple people can also connect, which is handy sometimes. Nicely done!
3 ★ It works, it's just strange that you have to download an app to make your fire Stick to work again because the remote that came with it malfunctioned and this is their answer, no replacement unless you call them and happen to get through somehow, until they send you a new one, just use this glitch app. Takes a lot of battery power because you have about have it on constantly to pause, fast forward or rewind something. Even if you're trying to conserve energy it's impossible.
3 ★ Super annoying. Latest update requires a code to link fire tv to my phone each time I change devices. Pretty simple interface. Nothing fancy but I guess it does do what it's designed to do. It wakes up your Fire TV. It lets you choose your app and sort of pauses, ffwd, start etc. Don't think it does anything else, at least mine hasn't done anything else yet. But it's a way of getting your TV on when you didn't want to get up and find your fire stick remote or if you're in a different room.
1 ★ Shocking it keeps losing connection to my firestick when trying to use the remote. And before you try to blame my network I'm on Virgin 100+mb so no problems with connectivity and speeds and I'm on a quiet channel on my router. I'm using a Samsung galaxy note 9 to use the app. So as you can tell the bases are covered on my side so that only leaves you at fault developers. Fix the issues within and I will edit my review.
3 ★ Update: I don't know what changed but all of a sudden it keeps disconnecting and it takes a while to reconnect and it's literally become a waste of my time now. So I had to take it down to 3 stars because it's just not practical on my Android. Works when it's supposed to. There used to be a connection problem but that was related to my older router not the app. So if you are experiencing connection issues check your router first. It's simple straightforward no frills no gimmicks and it works.
1 ★ Edit: Removing a star. Same behavior as below. Continues to contact the last device it communicated with automatically. Which unintentionally turns on the device. Crazy annoying. For about a month, every time I launch the app it immediately pulls up the last profile I used and issues what seems to be a 'select/enter' command. This causes a tv I'm not even watching to turn on, or a movie/show I am watching to pause, forcing me to resume. Why would that even be the default behavior?
2 ★ At first it seemed to work well, then reliability got worse. I find i have to reboot my android phone and fire tablet every time I want to use the app. This week something has changed and it refuses to connect at all to my TV. I have deinstalled/reinstalled multiple times and it hasn't helped.
2 ★ This app is obnoxiously glitchy. I try to scroll, it goes haywire in the direction I'm scrolling, then disconnects from my tv...REPEATEDLY. sometimes it won't even connect after going crazy so I'm left with no tv entertainment for a solid 5-10 minutes. Trying to unwind at the end of my night is leaving me frustrated.
2 ★ This program doesnt always detect the fire stick and if you keep it open for more than 10 minutes it disconnects. Then when the show is over you pray that it connects so it does not auto play the next. Needs to be more stable and constant connect to get more stars. All the new features and colors are useless if the app can't connect to the firestick like a normal remote can.
1 ★ Update: App is a constant disappointment. Always has errors when trying to view remotely. Support is non-existent with this issue that many have reported. Expected more. Update: App is completely useless. It seems like after every app update you have to jump through hoops to get it working again. Restart everything, clear cache, etc. Poor execution for a company like Amazon.
5 ★ My firestick remote broke so I've been using this app for months now and I like it. Works great , there's times it takes a bit of time to connect to the TV but not too bad. I use the TouchPad remote version(haven't used the simple remote) , really easy to use just have to swipe whichever way i want to go.I use it all the time and don't have to worry about buying a new remote.
3 ★ Damn app goes crazy on its own too many times. Or drops connection multiple times making it almost impossible to use. When it DOES work right(about 75% of the time) it's great. Would only recommend if your Firestick remote ate batteries like mine. Or use rechargeable batteries...much more reliable than this app.
5 ★ My physical remote got damaged. I thought of using this before ordering a new one. Eventually found this to be more convenient than the physical remote. Typing is so convenient on this one. The only drawback is that since the mobile and Firestick are connected to the same WiFi. I cannot use the remote when I intend to make mobile as a hotspot for the Firestick
1 ★ Trash app for trash product. I had to come back and re-review this just so I could hit home how exceptionally useless this app is. It doesn't work at all, you get maybe 10 seconds before it disconnects. Atleast with the physical remote it will just freeze up and not work. With the app it will start scrolling randomly and you won't be able to do anything until you close the app and try to reconnect. I would give this app 0/10 stars and the fire stick a 2/10
1 ★ I can barely get 10 seconds of use before I have to reconnect, if I can reconnect at all. It will work fine one minute then cut out the next....and death scroll the entire time it attempts to reconnect. It would be great if Amazon just worked on fixing the issues causing the firestick remotes to die with no warning after an extremely short life instead of creating an app that doesn't work to replace the remote that doesn't work. Don't waste your time, just buy a Roku instead...
