1 ★ Very buggy unit. Worked occasionally on my older phone (2 years ago). Recently tried on a Pixel 3 and Samsung S10 and will not connect via Bluetooth. Feels like an Android OS/pulse firmware issue but I have no way to upload new firmware..... Was very supportive of this concept when it first came out but Alpine Labs doesn't appear to be interested in supporting this unit anymore. Noticed the Android app has last updated in 2017!?! Save your money and look elsewhere. Sad.
4 ★ Having some trouble pairing my new phone to the Pulse, but when the app works it's a great app.
5 ★ I have had no problems with either the app of the pulse, they work as Alpine Labs said they would .... Brilliantly
1 ★ Awfull app. It takes ages to connect if you are lucky.
2 ★ Not recommended. Another gadget to collect dust.
1 ★ Doesnt work with S10! Pretty sure this company went under.
4 ★ The app and device had a lot of problems when I first got them (the phone lost the connection with the device and the device lost the connection with the camera). After a couple of firmware and app updates both now work reliably and as expected. There is however one problem that I have noticed recently (but haven't had time to report) and that is that the exposure ramping fails if one reconnects to the device after first disconnecting the phone (by moving far enough away). It also seems to be connected to setting a delay on starting the timelapse. Will report it once I have had time to investigate a bit more.
1 ★ Update October 2nd: No replies, no help... I feel I got robbed. - Samsung S8+ was able to get Pulse connected via Bluetooth but the app doesn't connect to my Nikon D7200 Camera, keeps showing "No Camera". Set everying to manual and no luck. Submitted a "Bug Report" via the app. Top of the line phone with a top of the line dx camera and it doesn't work... I hope this gets fixed or I want my money back.
2 ★ Edit: New software release seems to have fixed my initial problems. Only connects to my samsung galaxy s5 (and camera) 1 in 10 tries. Works every time on my Ipad. App needs more work on Bluetooth connection.
1 ★ When this device and app came out it worked great. Since updates it's useless. All I get are error messages saying no shutter settings no matter what I do. They do not offer any support whatsoever, have been emailing for almost 6 months without a single reply.
1 ★ expensive waste of money, before I purchased the pulse I emailed and asked if it was going to be compatable with my old camera 3100 and the camera I was going to purchase, well it is as long as you spend a further £25 to buy another lead, if I had known I would have purchased at same time.struggled to get it to work on the basic 3100. The Nokia 5300,well that won't connect at all. Feeling ripped off as it is not a cheap price of kit, it should work it doesn't work. Full of bugs, It looked full of promise and was excited but feeling let down
1 ★ App is slow and clumsy, disconnects my Bluetooth while trying to update firmware for the device. The device itself has never even worked on my camera. Waste of time and money for a gimicky product with poor build quality.
3 ★ Used the remote for the first time last night. Initial thoughts were great. App worked well and controlled the device and camera with ease. But i put the phone down for a few minutes and when i opened the app again, android had optimized and killed the process which in turn reset the time lapse and I had to start all over. Please develop the app so android cannot kill it in the background if there is a time lapse in progress.
1 ★ Cant do update to device. Tired of trying to make it work. Sorry i spent the money for this. Definitely not ready for primetime
5 ★ I find this to be the best way to control a camera for time lapse sequences. It's easy to use and reliable when used correctly.
