Painometer v2 is a smartphone app that helps users to assess momentary pain intensity. It allows to measure, store, display graphically and send a set of measures of pain intensity. It includes four well-validated pain intensity scales: the Faces Pain Scale-Revised (FPS-R), the Numerical Rating Scale (NS), the Coloured Analogue Scale (CAS), and the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS). Settings and instructions are available in several languages: Catalan, Spanish, French, English and Portuguese.

This application has been winner of mHealth - Mobile World Capital Barcelona.

Painometer v2 is patient and health professional oriented.

The use of Painometer v2 does not replace doctor-patient relationship.

The contents have been developed by a team of psychologists specialized in the assessment and treatment of pain. All the research group is linked to Universitat Rovira i Virgili (Dr. Jordi Miró, Rocío de la Vega, Elena Castarlenas, Elizabeth Sánchez-Rodríguez). The developers are Computer Engineers (Roman Roset) and technical engineers in telecommunications, specializing in Telematics (Gerard Gutierrez and Pere Llorens).

The creators of Painometer v2 are committed to reviewing the content and functionality of the application and to improve it on the basis of the available scientific and technical evidence.
