App permissions

Navdy (alelec) 3.8-0-gcf211f2 APK requires following permissions:

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows access to the vibrator.

Allows an application to broadcast sticky intents.

Required to be able to access the camera device.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

Allows applications to change network connectivity state.

Allows an application to receive SMS messages.

Allows an application to send SMS messages.

Allows an app to access precise location.

Allows an app to access approximate location.

Allows an application to read the user's contacts data.

Allows an application to initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call.

Allows an application to see the number being dialed during an outgoing call with the option to redirect the call to a different number or abort the call altogether.

Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

Allows modification of the telephony state - power on, mmi, etc.

Allows the app to answer an incoming phone call.

5 ★ Awesome work! This has Navdy working before the company went under and broke the original app. Great work! Can't tell you how happy I am. I'm running Android 8.1 and had to uninstall the original Navdy App before installing this one for this to work. Remember to go through the pairing and setup process again and redoing your favorite locations but it worked! I was using Gmap sender originally but that only worked on Android 8.0 and you had to use that app for pushing locations to Navdy. This app is a God send and breathes new life into Navdy. Thanks again!

5 ★ Loaded the 3060-37f87fa-oobd and the non-oobd versions of firmware, but my phone won't connect to the display. I did a factory reset and reloaded the firmware. The button connected, but the phone still won't connect. It's a Pixel 3 XL with the latest Android version. Update: Got an email from Andrew Leech. He suggested deleting Navdy from the paired setting on my phone and trying again. It took a while, but it's working now.

I thought that my Navdy was rubbish when the company closed down but I had paid over $700.00 NZD so kept it and hoped and now thanks to elelec I can use it and most of the commands. A great app and a huge thank you to you. I have sent you a payment so all on Navdy get this app for a genuine experience.

5 ★ With the original Navdy app failing and my Navdy stopped working due to the licence keys in the old firmware, I thought my HUD was dead. I can't believe how much I had grown to rely on it. Thanks to your new app and the new firmware for Navdy, everything is working again. I can hardly express how pleased I am. Thank you so much - you have done a great service to Navdy users.

5 ★ Thank you so much! For those getting errors upon trying to install it, that could be because you have the original navdy app still installed. On Android Pie I had to long press the app and go into permissions then toggle permissions before launching it. After doing this it got past the setup screens.

4 ★ Most of the features work except making calls and it won't update from 3088. Says I need to update the display so it works with my phone, but in the settings the 'update display' is greyed out and says the display is up to date.. so now I can't use my navdy because of this update issue.. please fix or provide alternative update procedure.. other than that it works (worked) great.

3 ★ Thanks. I did the PC update on Navdy to version 3090. Everything is working now. However anytime I switch on Navdy I receive the below message on my Navdy screen: 'Navdy FW successfully updated, will be used next startup. Update to v3091 (current v3090)'. The message won't go away unless I push the Navdy dial a couple of times to 'Dismiss'! It is so annoying and stopping me using the Navdy.

3 ★ As the other reviewers have written, I also have the message that states to update the Navdy display to work with my phone, but I have all latest updates. I cannot use the Navdy at all at this time. This is problematic for me as I've used my Navdy for years now and have come to rely on the dash display. Even when the company folded, I was able to view the dash and maps in real time and even nav to the places already stored. Now, the unit is completely useless and there's nothing I can do.

5 ★ App is great! much easier than the apk route. keep up the great work to keep Navdy alive. Will definitely give 5 stars if you can help me get real-time traffic back on the display. Cheers! Update - with the new version 3090, maps and traffic are working again for me! Excellent work!

5 ★ Thanks so much for getting it working (was always having to make contacts and calendar events to get the stock one to find anything) It doesn't show my recent places though, I've been multiple places, but when I use the dial to the recent section it's always blank, phone is connected just fine

Thanks for all your efforts in keeping it going and the various iterations over July to fix the issues. It is now working great, more than happy to subscribe and support you back.

5 ★ Thanks for developing this app, my Navdy fully functional again. Edit 2/1/20. Just updated app, now I have lost maps (speed limits etc). Six months ago the traffic disappeared despite subscribing to the monthly Navdy (alelec) sub. I don't have access to a laptop. Please can you make my Navdy more than just an HDU speedo/tacho.

5 ★ This is amazing, I have lost any hope to use this great device, but it seems to be working now again! Update 2020-01-26: i did a firmware update, followed directions and the device is amazingly working again. Thanks!

5 ★ great stuff. I thought my Navdy is dead, but with the developers support available & this updated apk now is working better than ever. thank you. I still wait to have the possibility for some third apk to be installed (e.g. Sygic, etc)
