App permissions
Alcidae 2.22.10 APK requires following permissions:
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows an application to read from external storage.
Required to be able to access the camera device.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Allows an application to record audio.
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.
Allows an application to read the low-level system log files.
This constant was deprecated in API level 21. No longer enforced.
Allows applications to enter Wi-Fi Multicast mode.
Allows an app to access approximate location.
Allows an app to access precise location.
Allows applications to change Wi-Fi connectivity state.
Allows using the device's IR transmitter, if available.
Allows access to the vibrator.
Allows an application to broadcast sticky intents.

4 ★ Easy to use and love the live feed
2 ★ App is still crashing on my Samsung G-S9. And I pay for the cloud service. Thanks for the update, I'm now able to log in and then I only get as far as a black screen and it times out (close, wait, send feedback). I've now sent an e-mail to support to continue this conversation a little more direct and will edit this. I bumped up the rating one more star just as an average of my experience with the device and app; it was great when I first got it, but now so many things are wrong with it.
1 ★ Update: 9/18/19- I downloaded the latest version(1.0.8.7) and it does not work. It just crashes or turns into a black screen. Without the app, the camera is useless. The app used to work until 9/11/19. Now it just crashes as soon as you turn it on. The other thing that needs to be fixed, is that it doesn't remember the country code, and defaults to China. I'm in the US, and I shouldn't have to search for it, every time it says my token has expired.
4 ★ The instructions were a bit confusing to me but once I understood it I was able to successful install and configure the device. tips, 1). change your phone temporarily to 2.4gig 2). there is an easy wired setup to enable the app to open and close your door. 3) if you have a chamberlin, like me, you may jam e to look for lift master instructions instead. 4) I am not sure if I can get Google assistant to work with put a hub but I will try.
3 ★ Update 11/6/2019 - cleared data and cache and now the app is working again but who knows for how long. - Broken again! It says network is poor and won't open the video steam. The network speed is fast when measured next to the camera so that's not the problem. It's been this way for days. I would think twice about buying any of their products.
1 ★ Latest update cannot open. Instant crash when I try. I am on a Pixel 3 Android 9. Also, the app isn't seamless with Alexa. You have to tell Alexa to open the Alcidae app then tell it to open the garage door. I overlooked this slight inconvenience since I bought the device on sale. But now I can't even use it at all due to the broken app.
1 ★ 1) Camera that I bought had instructions that told me to download this app, but that camera is not listed in the setup options 2) using set up for a different camera option seems too work, tells me it's connected but offers no option to finish setup so I can use the camera, and going back nullifies the setup. Returning cameras and uninstalling the app. Junk.
3 ★ Video saves to phone with no option to save to memory card. Needs to constantly be recalibrated often. Think the contacts on the switch relays need to close for longer than a second as it takes several attempts to open or close the garage doors. Ne version of the app does not connect to my wifi. Message "the current network is poor, please try again."
1 ★ Camera has worked flawlessly for months. Now all of a sudden I keep getting "poor connection" and won't open. Only way to fix is to reset camera and reinstall app, but this only is a temporary fix and stopped working again soon after. First few emails to support were standard reinstall app, reset camera, ect. Now no responses.
3 ★ Device was confussing & not clear using the instructions. App doesn't auto open nor dose app icon show in my apps library. Have tp go to play store each time to open the app. No display settings, doesn't allow screen rotation, only opens with a landscape/horizontal image in a portrait view in the top 1/4 of the screen. To see the image correctly you need to turn the phone landscape but the image is small, hard to see. Speaker & mic leave a lot to be desired. No vol cntl, audio in/out mic/spkr!
1 ★ I have updated the application to the latest version and it's crashing all the time... Also the way notification are made through this app are useless... I won't let this apps open all day long to see that someone open the door. You guys need to have the notification sent to Android Notification system.
2 ★ App crashes when opened (pixel 2). Product needs to be returned because the app is broken. Update: send to be working after the latest update. After the update: Reinstalling the app fixed the issue, but only for a couple used them it had to be uninstalled and reinstalled again.
1 ★ This app is absolute TRASH!!! Just purchased the new garager for voice activation with Google and Alexa. I was able to open the garage a couple of times with problems and then it just totally stopped working. Save your money and time and DO NOT purchase this Trash!
1 ★ Box says Works with Google Assistant but I cannot get the Home app to connect to my Alcidae account. It goes through the log in process but when it goes back out to the Home connected accounts screen the Alcidae account is not listed nor does the camera show up in the list of devices. I guess the Alcidae app works fine on it's own but I don't want to deal with two apps to check both of my cameras. Dissapointed. Would have bought more cameras if this worked with home.
1 ★ Sad Experience : This is the first camera that will not work no matter what I do. Where is the customer support number that usually come with the device? This divide can't find my Router, even if the camera is sitting on the Router. 🙈
