In telecommunications, a voice operated switch, also known as VOX or Voice Operated eXchange, is a switch that operates when sound over a certain threshold is detected. It is usually used to turn on a transmitter or recorder when someone speaks and turn it off when they stop speaking. It is used instead of a push-to-talk button on transmitters or to save storage space on recording devices. On cell phones, it is used to save battery life. Intercom systems that use a speaker in a room as both a speaker and a microphone will often use VOX on the main console to switch the audio direction during a conversation. The circuit usually includes a delay between the sound stopping and switching direction, to avoid the circuit turning off during short pauses in speech (From Wikipedia).

1 ★ Can barely hear the files and they are missing too much data. Doesn't work for me.
2 ★ Add ability to record through Bluetooth devices and auto upload to Google Drive, and I'll buy pro plus 5 stars.
4 ★ Does the job with some shortcomings: (1)- need a "select all and delete" (2) - need an option to "Record in only one file" (3) - need it's own player for preview but this would be sugar coating.

4 ★ I have stage 4 glioblastoma brain cancer and I have a hard time remembering things so I thought if I got a voice-activated recorder that would automatically record whatever I said without actually having to turn recorder on because I would forget what I was going to say by the time I grab the recorder I'd forgotten what I'm saying but I can't test it unless I buy it. I don't need a simple recorder that I have to look for then turn on.
