ADT Control offers a seamless transition from at-home or at-work, to mobile smart security and automation. It extends the functionality of your ADT Command smart home or business security system, and puts it in the palm of your hand – virtually anywhere you go around the world. It goes beyond protecting what matters most to you, and delivers really smart security for your home or business.
How the ADT Control app puts you in command of your smart security and automation:
• Arm or disarm your home or business security from virtually anywhere.
• Control your lights so your home or business always looks occupied.
• Lock or unlock your doors remotely to let in contractors, visitors or the dog walker.
• Receive alerts when your system status changes or a door is unlocked, such as when your kids arrive home or your manager gets to work. Then view live video to check in on them.
• Adjust your smart thermostat to make everyone comfortable and even potentially lower your energy expenses.
Create Scenes and Schedules to bring it all together!
Using the ADT Control app, you can create scenes and schedules that give you the ultimate one-touch control of your smart home or business security and automation:
• Set up automations for leaving or arriving to your home or business.
• Create a vacation Scene that turns on different lights at different times, turns the TV or radio on and off, and generally makes it look like you’re home when you’re away.
• Adjust your system for different times of day so your security, lighting, temperature and other smart features are at the perfect settings, at the right time.
App permissions
ADT Control ® 5.4.2 APK requires following permissions:
Allows applications to perform I/O operations over NFC.
Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Allows an application to read the user's contacts data.
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows an application to write to external storage.
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.
Allows an application to record audio.
Required to be able to access the camera device.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
Allows an app to access precise location.
Allows an app to access approximate location.
Allows access to the vibrator.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows applications to change network connectivity state.
Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.
Allows applications to change Wi-Fi connectivity state.
Allows applications to enter Wi-Fi Multicast mode.
Permission an application must hold in order to use ACTION_REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS.

5 ★ Great app so far, been using it since October 2019.. though as of late I'm not able to view the multiple camera portion as when I refresh more than 1 live feed the app freezes and force closes, why is that? Edit: the issues that I had concerning the app freezing was due to a 5 year old cell phone I was using at the time but have since upgraded to a newer model and I'm no longer having any issues! 5/5 stars
1 ★ The app is functional, but basic and limited; as to how you can access past video auto recordings from camera system. As for ADT services, get a dog, a baseball bat, or just hang some empty beer cans on your doors and windows. You will be better served and they're cheaper! Safe Streets is the installation part of ADT, owned by them, but they claim to be unrelated when there's a problem. Passing the buck is the number 1 priority for Safe Streets USA and ADT! Avoid this company or any affiliates!
2 ★ Thinking seriously about canceling ADT. The video camera is hit and miss, and now it's not working. Trying to troubleshoot through the app and it's zero help. Has an intro page, and can't click anything. We're also miffed because when we first signed up we were told that we'd get a $100.00 gift card ,( via email link ) Never saw it, and checked spam folder too. When we called ADT, they said they'd send it again, but didn't. We verified we had the right email too. Disappointed
1 ★ Two-step verification has become incredible cumbersome as we have 4 family in different locations that use this app for our disabled brother. Now none of us can login without having another person send us a verification code. This is new and extremely annoying not to mention a hassle if we needed to get in during an emergency.
3 ★ The app and customer service. Well you can't find nicer people. But the equipement is less than desirable. I've had the sytem less than it's took 6 trips to my home to finally make it work. Will not be renewing. I only raised my rating because they finally got it to work.
1 ★ Sadly we've had a bad experience with this company since the first week. Our bell and our cameras don't work correctly. When you call them to solve the problem they charge you for everything. Then, the problem appears again. This is not a cheap product, we bought a big and expensive problem.
1 ★ 3/13/21: 4th alarm panel I've had installed. Last event logged was 2/5, I contacted per advice, mgr said he was looking into this. My app is sending less than 1/3 of notifications as the panel when it did work! I have called And emailed. He is just ignoring me. DO NOT BUY THIS BROKEN SERVICE! ADT takes your $$ for garbage that does not work, At ALL! *SEE ALL EDITS!
2 ★ When I get a notification about motion from any of my cameras it takes too long for the live camera to come up in the App. By the time it comes up, the person is gone and I couldn't have addressed the person if it was a serious issue. Also, the turn on/off light feature is terrible. Every time I open the App, it shows the lights on even though I havr already cut them off. I am not a fan of this App. What's the point of having the App if you can't pull up the live feed instantaneously?!
1 ★ My husband and I got this security system because we found out our home was being watched and they were after our 2 children. We've had nothing, but problems with this company and we are fed up! Nothing works half the time. Customer Service has been called regarding these situations and the same issues keep happening! I would definitely NOT recommend this company.
2 ★ The app was one of the selling points for the system. After I was no longer able to "skip" 2 step authentication, I set it up. Now the app is frustrating to use. Even if I follow the steps and "disable" TSA, it now makes me set it up each time I go to use the app. I cant remain logged in, even if I check that box when I log in. The code goes to the last one of us that had to re setup TSA. So code doesn't always go to me. Has become frustrating to the point of being worthless.
2 ★ I can't hear anything on my living camera even after boost the volume up and pushing the speaker button. The doorbell camera also has a huge lag, it takes so long to show me who's at the door that by the time it comes up the person has left.
3 ★ Most of the time it works okay. Recently the app d names I use two-factor authentication, and won't let me arm or disarm the system remotely without it. With two-factor authentucation my wife cannot arm or disarm remotely. It has rendered the app useless, and arming/ disarming must be done from the panel. Y'all be ready to call every time we pull into the garage.
1 ★ ADT changed the term of my contract without telling me. Very poor business practice. I can't remember the last time a corporation did that. I was told if I ever moved to a new location that they would come remove the equipment and install at the new place for free. ADT would not do it for free now and inform me that my contract has been altered. I can't believe I've been paying monthly payment to a corporation that refuse to conduct honest business and refuse to follow contract that they draw up
1 ★ Nothing works my camera only record at random. This app is the worst. I have to take all that back dont think it's just the app. I've had this for awhile now. Today is 1/12/21. So all day today I had one recording. Our geo-fences are malfunctioning again. This whole entire system does not work. I should have done more research.
1 ★ 1st Day use and it is NOT WORKING. Only one day and i know ADT scammed me i should have knew the moment i saw the 3.4 user review. My security works but the app literally is a waste (which is the most important and convenient part.).... Camera feed its good but no comand to my doors work...none it hangs and hangs and then i get a message. Edit: All the command s through the app last night went in hours left, in another words my garage door and front door spend all night closing and opening MESS
