Description
In addition to the live radar, MyRadar has an ever-increasing list of weather and environmentally-related data layers that you can overlay on top of the map; our animated winds layer shows a breathtaking visual representation of both surface winds and winds at the jetstream level; the frontal boundaries layer shows high and low pressure systems as well as frontal boundaries themselves; the earthquakes layer is a great way to stay on top of the latest reports on seismic activity, completely customizable as to severity and time; our hurricane layer allows users to stay on top of the latest tropical storm and hurricane activity throughout the world; the aviation layer overlays AIRMETs, SIGMETs and other aviation-related data, including the ability to track flights and display their IFR flight plans and paths, and the "wildfires" layer allows users to stay abreast of the latest fire activity around the United States.
In addition to the data layers, MyRadar has the ability to send weather and environmental alerts, including alerts from the National Weather Center, such as Tornado and Severe Weather alerts. MyRadar includes the ability to receive alerts based off of Tropical Storm and Hurricane activity; you can configure the app to send you an alert any time a tropical storm or hurricane forms, or is upgraded or downgraded.
One of the most useful features in MyRadar is the ability to provide advanced rain alerts; our patent-pending process for predicting hyper-local rainfall is the most accurate in the industry. Instead of having to constantly check the app, MyRadar will send you an alert up to an hour in advance as to when the rain will arrive at your current location, down to the minute, including details on intensity and duration. These alerts can be a life saver when you're on-the-go and don't always have time to check the weather - our systems will proactively do the work for you and let you know in advance before the rain hits.
All of the weather and environmental data represented on MyRadar is displayed on our custom mapping system, developed in-house. This mapping system uses your devices GPU, which makes it incredibly fast and speedy. The map has the standard pinch/zoom capability which allows you to smoothly zoom and pan around the United States and the rest of the world to see what the weather is like anywhere on the planet.
In addition to the free features of the app, the premium upgrade is available, including real-time hurricane tracking - great for the start of hurricane season. This feature provides additional data above and beyond the free version, including the cone of probability for tropical storm/hurricane forecast tracks, and also includes a detailed synopsis from the National Hurricane Center. The premium upgrade also include the professional radar pack, which allows greater detail of radar from individual stations. Users can select individual radar stations around the US, select the radar tilt angle, and also change the radar product being displayed, including base reflectivity and wind velocity - great for experienced weather buffs looks to stay on top of possible tornado formation.
MyRadar is also available for Wear OS devices, including tiles for both radar and current conditions - try on your smartwatch!

1 ★ Will not run on my phone since June 2021 update. Crashes...(Notifications require opting in on 3rd party access to data. Other weather apps also need this link to get real time notifications) This is by far the best radar app I have used. Coming from Storm radar which is shutting down soon. The radar is fantastic. I turned on everything but airline pilot maps...no need for that for me but nice option if you are a pilot. Blown away by what this app can do. (Update: I even subscribed on my ipad!)
5 ★ Very impressed I love being able to read and see all the little details unlike other apps, I felt like other apps didn't contain or show to much information unlike this app, this app also has a sticky notification to show you the current temperature which I find useful when going to and from work, without having to unlock and pull up google or an app to see what the weather is when I'm in a hurry and need to know that info.
5 ★ I have been using My Radar for a year, and I like it a lot. It gives you rain and storm warnings, the likelihood of when excessive heat or precipitation will be in the area, and the cloud and satellite mapping is great. I especially like the earthquake and wildfire layers as well. I believe this app is well worth having.
5 ★ Android user: I enjoy the wind overlay on the radar and the app has lots of information relative to your local area in the pull down menu. Customization of data makes it personalized for your interests and preferences. Overall a great weather app and in the ads version the ads are not too aggressive or mess with the operation of the app itself.
5 ★ This is much more than just a radar app. With optional premium content, it provides an incredible amount of informative overlays related to weather, air quality, earthquakes, hurricanes, wildfires and more. For weather geeks this is a really fun and informative app that's stable, easy to use and easy on your battery.
3 ★ The layers are fantastic! One complaint tho- and it's kind of a big one. The temperatures are NOT accurate. It says for me the high for today is around 90 and that it would have been 90 through the weekend when we have been predicted to be well over the 100s, and our temperature gauges are confirming this. Big whoopsie.
5 ★ Great radar map. They finally made the colors for tornado warnings and tornado watches a different color! They used to be nearly the same shade of color. The addition of the Daily Forcast features makes it a full blown weather app, not just radar. The only weather app I'm using now. Thanks!
4 ★ Radar is fine. Short term radar prediction/forecast would be helpful. Having weather forecast search all over while I scroll the map is irritating. Just forcast for the location city selected, not chase all over the map as I look around the globe, please.
5 ★ Excellent ! I made the mistake of posting earlier that my previous purshases were null and void. I was wrong. I apolgise for my error. It is the best app for weather. I was contacted by the developer and they were happy to respond. Thank you very much. I appreciate it.
2 ★ Pro version has nicer graphics, HOWEVER the per station must be on for best graphics, HOWEVER the icons are so HUGE they cover the map so you can't view the entire USA. I'm in Michigan and need to see from Texas up to Michigan to see what's coming. Can you PLEASE make these icons smaller or add the ability to hide them? Needs more explanation of colors! Wind, for example, also clouds! What is an orange blob vs a blue blob... trail.
5 ★ Obviously works well all over the US and follows you, wherever you go. Maps are better than you get on weather.gov. It also worked well in Holland, when I visited there a few years ago. Don’t know about the rest of the world, but I really like My Radar.
5 ★ I really enjoy the fact that where I live in the woods I can always see what's going on in the weather and it has so many features that you end up playing with it for a while seeing fires earthquakes hurricanes so many things that you can keep your eyes on in the world. It's more accurate than our local weather station and that means a lot especially when you're planning things.
4 ★ Great weather app. I love the accuracy, awesome radar and layout of the app. The major improvements that would earn the 5th star world be to provide both humidity and dew point. Come on, you have the info already!
5 ★ Easy to use and accurate, which I find most invaluable, especially when I need updated information. I have tried other apps. Hands down this is the BEST free app available.
5 ★ I don't even look at weather forecasts anymore. I just go straight to the radar and look and figure it out for myself. This is a great apparently rarely do I have any problems with it, and if I do, they're quick to remedy the situation. If you don't have the paid version you should!
