ESPAÑOLA

Congreso de los Diputados y del Senado celebradas
el 31 de octubre de 1978

CONSTITUTION
SPANISH
Approved by the Cortes in plenary sessions of the
Congress of Deputies and Senate held
on October 31, 1978
Ratified by the Spanish people in a referendum on
December 6, 1978
Sanctioned by H.M. the King before the Courts
December 27, 1978
The Spanish Nation, wishing to establish justice, the
liberty and security and promote the good of all who integrate it, in use of their sovereignty, proclaim their will to:
Guarantee democratic coexistence within the Constitution and the laws in accordance with an economic and social order
fair.
Consolidate a rule of law that ensures the empire
of the law as an expression of popular will.
Protect all Spaniards and peoples of Spain in the
exercise of human rights, their cultures and traditions, languages ​​and institutions.
Promote the progress of culture and the economy to
ensure everyone a decent quality of life.
Establish an advanced democratic society, and
Collaborate in the strengthening of peaceful relations and effective cooperation between all the peoples of the
Earth.
Consequently, the Cortes approve and the Spanish people
ratifies the following

This Constitution will enter into force the same day of publication
of its official text in the official state bulletin. It will also be published in the other languages ​​of Spain.

I SEND ALL THE SPANIARDS, INDIVIDUALS AND AUTHORITIES, TO KEEP AND HAVE TO KEEP THIS CONSTITUTION
AS A FUNDAMENTAL STANDARD OF THE STATE.
