For the best compass readings put the phone on a flat surface or try to hold the phone flat in your hand, this app uses a magnetic censor in your phone to find out where north is, this is also the way you should use a standard compass.
To use the widget so you can turn on and off the Flash light from your lock screen or home page open up your apps page, click on widgets and then hold the torch button and then drop it wherever you want it to be.
