Tarbiyatul Aulad consists of two words, namely Tarbiyah and Aulad. Tarbiyah means education and plural Aulad from waladun which means child. The term Tarbiyah or education in the context of Islam generally refers to al-tarbiyah, al-ta'dib, and al-ta'lim.

Education according to Muhammad Natsir is a physical and spiritual leader towards the perfection of the complete meaning of humanity with its true meaning.

Of the three terms, the term used by the author and more famously used in the practice of Islamic education is al-tarbiyah. For this reason the writer will explain the meaning of al-tarbiyah. The use of the word al-tarbiyah comes from the word rabb. Although this word has many meanings, but the basic understanding shows the word grow, develop, maintain, care for, manage, and maintain its preservation or existence.

The use of the word al-tarbiyah to designate the meaning of Islamic education can be understood by referring to the word of Allah SWT:

"And you should humble yourself to both because of your mercy and affection, and pray (for them, by saying):" O my Lord! Wash mercy upon them both as they have poured out their affection to nurture and educate me as a child "(QS: Al Isra: 24)

This definition has five main elements of Islamic education, namely:

1. The process of trans-internalization. Efforts in Islamic education are carried out in stages, tiered, planned, structured, systematic and continuous with the means of transformation and internalization of Islamic knowledge and values ​​in students.

2. Knowledge and value of Islam. The material given to students is science and Islamic values.

3. To students. Education is given to students as subjects and objects of education.

4. Through teaching, habituation, guidance, care, supervision and potential development.

5. To achieve harmony and perfection of life in this world and the hereafter.

The ultimate goal of Islamic education is the creation of our human beings, people who are able to harmonize and meet the needs of the world and the hereafter.

Tarbiyatul Aulad in Islam is a part of individual education, where Islam tries to prepare and foster it so that it becomes a useful member of society and pious people in this life. Even children's education, if it has been implemented well and directed, then it is nothing but a strong foundation for preparing a godly and responsible person for all the problems and duties of his life.

So what is meant by Tarbiyatul Aulad in this discussion is Islamic education aimed at children so that children become the jewels of the hearts of every parent of the world and the hereafter.
