App permissions

SwannView Pro 3.0 APK requires following permissions:

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

Allows an application to write to external storage.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

1 ★ So far this company has been absolutely ridiculous and trying to install these cameras so obviously if you have an older model camera they don't have any software for it or even have anybody to help you try to find some software for it it's absolutely ridiculous I'm going to throw these cameras in the trash and block this company trash company no I would never use them again wasting my money in time

1 ★ Needs an UPGRADE!!!! Hasn't been updated since 2012! Really????!!!! Please update software to work with latest Android version. Even when it was working it was glitchy.

1 ★ I think that the previous OS used Java & the 'Lolipop' OS has done away with Java. So if the nice people at Swann could re-write their App to make it work with 'Lolipop' we would all be very thankful. Meanwhile 1 stars only (just to get it to register - otherwise it's really 0 stars as it doesn't work, even after re-installing!). UPDATE: Installed the 'SwannView Link' app which now works (with a little bit of setting up) with my DVR8-4000 & Galaxy S4 Android v5.0 'Lollipop' OS). This seems better.

4 ★ Overall satisfied with the app. As mentioned on the instructions, having a router with universal plug and play makes it easier to setup your home network... not by much, but it does. I can only however play 3 cameras simultaneously. Update: 4 cameras can now be seen simultaneously. Reset all routers and changed the DHCP to manually provide IP address and so far everything works. Still a 4-star app because resolution could improve some.

5 ★ Works excellent via wifi (local) and via 3G/4G. I love the ability to save snapshots and video locally on my devices. Calling support for mobile viewing was a must, but well worth it. One thing the could add is a 4x2 or 4x4 widget that shows your live cameras. That would make this a ten star app.

5 ★ Realized I had installed the WRONG app version for my 1400 model DVR on my newer S7 Edge phone. After I installed the CORRECT version on my phone, the app worked immediately, and I was able to view my cameras via cellphone again. I guess I had been lucky all those years using SwannviewPro on my Note2 when it really shouldn't have been working. Lesson learned: Always make sure you are using the RIGHT app with the RIGHT equipment. Thanks Swann!

5 ★ I have used both Swannview and Swannview Pro apps and both work flawlessly with my Android smartphone. Set up on both was the same; a "breeze" I currently use Swannview Pro ( just my self preference) each time i want to view my camera source and with a tap on the app i get instant connection to my camera's. With the motion perimeters set up in my DVR i also get instant emails when a set parimeter alarm is triggered. I highly recommend the use of Swannview and Swannview Pro apps in conjunction with your

4 ★ The problem here is that unless your a computer head the instructions to set the app up are hard to work out for the average tech dinosaur like me. Setting up the DDNS was easy bit when setting up the app no details.. for anyone who reads take note. In the app when adding the username and password it's the same as the one you open the menu on your DVD at home. It's not the one you set up the DDNS with. A simple tip that would of saved me months of agony. Detailed instructions please Swann.

5 ★ I have 4 cams around my house. The kids on my estate tried to steal my motorbike at least twice a month but now they don't even try. I can remotely view when I'm out and it's peace of mind more than anything. Not hard to set up u just need the right ip address for your home and away settings. Away is your mobile view just search what's my mobile ip address on the net and your up and running.
