Description

Designed by a neuromuscular neurologist at the University of Michigan, Nerve Whiz is a free application for medical professionals interested in learning the complex anatomy of nerve roots, plexuses, and peripheral nerves. Select which muscles are weak, or point to areas of sensory loss, and the application can provide you with distinguishing features and detailed information, complete with relevant pictures and diagrams.

Features
• Nerve and Muscle Charts. This comprehensive inventory of the most clinically relevant muscles in the upper and lower extremities can be sorted by root, trunk, cord, peripheral nerve, action, or muscle name.
• Muscle Localizer. Select muscles as weak or strong, and the application provides a list of possible localizations (root, plexus, or nerve), along with distinguishing features about each.
• Nerve Diagrams. Choose any localization (root, trunk, cord, or nerve), and see a diagram of that nerve in the context of the brachial or lumbosacral plexus. Toggle to “Muscle View” and the diagram shows you the muscles supplied by your chosen nerve, and from where their innervations arise.
• Sensory Localizer. Touch a picture of an arm or leg and Nerve Whiz suggests localizations with beautiful graphic representations of the sensory distributions of nerve roots, parts of the plexus, and nerves.

NOTE: Nerve Whiz is intended to be an educational tool only. Nerve distributions vary between patients, and central or multifocal processes can mimic focal peripheral lesions. As such, this application should not be relied upon to make clinical decisions.

2 ★ Over 48MB, no option to transfer to SD card. I can hardly work out what it does - just diagrams, and the sensory localiser is inaccurate. Uninstalled.

4 ★ A unique app which was sorely needed by students of the peripheral nervous system. However, the sensory localizations of the lower limb are inaccurate.. kindly fix it. Otherwise, very nice work!

1 ★ Doesn't work on new version of Android phones (I have an LG V20). Great for iPhone. One nerve is mismatched, see if you can figure it out ;)

3 ★ Originally worked well on my Galazy S2, but updating to S6 made the app pretty much not functional. Choosing "muscles" , then "Add Muscle" opens up a list of muscles, but they are all overlapping, Adding a muscle selects a muscle, but it is unreadable, and the results are unreadable.. the vertical layout has been altered on the newer phone. I used to use this a lot, now its sort of sad. Please fix this, it was a great, helpful tool! It used to be 5-star, and would be again, when fixed!

3 ★ When you click on muscle , or diagram, the text is too close together and you cannot open it, using a droid turbo 2, used to work with my old phone.

5 ★ Needs apps to sd move. Looks good, but user interface could do with some polish. Great free app. Thank you. And to the commenter below, it does have lower limb details too, just look properly in the app.

2 ★ The whole app has glitches and interface issues that makes this app mostly unusable on my phone. Will uninstall fur now but will potentially try again in the future to see if improvements have been made and re-rate.

3 ★ App was working well in my Sony xperia phone. Switched to Samsung s9+ and app no longer works. You may open the app but you cannot view any of the tops properly as everything looks shrunken down. Please fix.

4 ★ Unfortunately, the sensory images often get incorrect headings. The muscle part is excellent.

5 ★ This is a great app I am a student and have absolutely no problems, my favorite medical app. Does exactly what is promised!

5 ★ On my S4 the nerve lists are compressed vertically making them hard to choose. Might be fixed with an upgrade?

5 ★ Great for diagnosis. Not a intro teaching tool. But does its job very well.

5 ★ Excellent source for on-the-go studying or to be prepared for rounding with a neurophysiologist

2 ★ As others have mentioned formatting is all screwed up. Not functional currently. Developer needs to run app whiz to localize code lesion.

1 ★ The formatting / spacing is all messed up and illegible on the S8, making it impossible to use =(.
