Description
Hearoes is an interactive auditory training platform for those with Cochlear Implants, Hearing aids, and hearing loss to help familiarise different environmental sounds, and vocabulary and improve auditory feedback and aural training.
We're collaborated with audiologists and speech pathologists at hospitals to help bring engaging interactive auditory training for hearing loss recipients at different stages of their hearing journey, to help them hear new sounds and confidence today.
It combines proven assessments used in rehabilitation sessions and on-going training with gamified activities and interactions to create an aesthetically engaging and user-centric experience for recipients. Hearoes helps this critical stage of on-going training become less of a chore for those with hearing aids, cochlear implants, and hearing loss.
It features dynamic pathways covering 5 key proven modules and 50+ fun activities focused on learning a specific part in the hearing journey of new sounds.
Some of the key modules featured in Hearoes are:
- Environmental Sounds: Combination of daily sounds, such as in the kitchen, rural and farm, and music. Immerse yourself in different environments and hear the sounds around the theme.
Introduction to Words: Learning pitches and syllables around words.
Vowels and Consonants: Helping to be familiar with sounds of vowels and consonants in initial and final position.
Understanding Sentences: Progressive narratives in common day scenes. Ranging from video clips (for lip-reading) to audio with background noise to help learn in a comfortable notion.
We also have a feedback option built-in and would love to hear your thoughts, so we can continue to build a great product to help those with hearing loss feel comfortable in different environments.
App permissions
Hearoes 1.3.173 APK requires following permissions:
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
Permission an application must hold in order to use ACTION_REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS.

3 ★ Used to love the app. But with latest update the screens are simply too freaking small to read. ,☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️😮☹️ Seems I need to create a new account.. but it never sends the email confirmation. No one responds to chat or messages. So is the app dead or what?
4 ★ Terrific for practicing with my new CI (I now have bilateral). I confess though that, during replay, I find the sounds often seem quite different from how they were originally spoken. Please, more sentences too,
5 ★ Thank you so much. It was never funnier to do hearing practices. I'm with CI in one ear and this really helps me to challenge myself. I wish you could also add challenges to practice my speech as well (use speech to text to verify) Only one note is that city noises start very loud and then going more silent.. it feels like you're doing to us a favor so we can understand later.. if you just make it constant volume Thanks again. You developers are adorable (I'm a software team lead btw)

2 ★ I have a CI in my right ear I have been using this app free until today it is an absolute rip-off that unity is extorting money out of disabled people There is the when is my flight module on this app I get to a certain point and I cannot continue This is absolutely stupid
3 ★ The format of the exercises seem childish. The words/sounds are not the same when being repeated
5 ★ It is tough to hear the correct vowel sounds. I have to listen carefully and repeat exercises severl times to practice hearing word correctly. I am also happy to see there is male AND female voices, as in real life. Also, you can do exercises in quiet or with background noise. Very good practice!
5 ★ The issues I had have been quickly rectified by the developer. Thank you. The app is easy to use & I have found it extremely helpful on my journey to hearing again with my new N7 Cochlear Implant. Some sounds are a little unclear at present, however I'm sure with practice they will improve.
1 ★ Went to paid model.. not worth it anymore, better off just to listen to audiobooks and podcasts instead
4 ★ Have been using the app for about a month. But in past week or so my score history has disappeared and it is not keeping track each time I use it. So have to restart from beginning each time. Has something changed? Otherwise very useful tool.
3 ★ Hearos is great, but suffers one major problem: logging-in is intermittent and "change password" gets no result. Two minor problems: 1. some sound-representing icons either don't respond or aren't in-scene. 2. There's no way to convey this to the developers.

1 ★ Almost feels like you're monetizing our illness, thanks. It would've been fine if you were paid from the start but imagine how inhumane you have to be to make someone start their training and then charge them to continue what they started.
