Allah the Exalted says:

"And ask for help (to God) patiently and (do) prayer. And indeed that was really hard, except for those who are humble, "(QS.al Baqarah: 45)

"(They are) those who believe in the Unseen, who establish prayer and spend out sebahagian sustenance which We have bestowed upon them," (QS.al Baqarah: 3)

"And be steadfast in prayer, pay the poor due, and rukuklah with those who bow." (QS.al Baqarah: 43)

Although prayer is obligatory for Muslims. However there are certain relief-relief given to his followers who are not able to. For example, for someone who is ill, they should do the prayer by sitting or lying down. Likewise when traveling, we have easy plural prayer.
