Take or upload a photo of any snake and get a fast accurate response with your snake's identity, diet, habitat, and a brief characteristic description from our expert panel. We use a combination of technology and human intelligence to confirm all snake submissions. Currently Artificial Intelligence (automation) is not 100% accurate every time. There are many variables when it comes to snake identification, and with over 3500 snake species in the world, we cannot afford to be wrong. Accuracy, timely responses, and education are our top priorities!

5 ★ Great app for me to use in my farm! I had never heard of a corn snake; thankful they identified it since it was good to have on my farm. I have used the app several times with great results. Very prompt in their reply and information.

5 ★ This app provides a fantastic service! Each snake is individually identified by an expert, and this direct line of communication gives you I.D.'s and information you feel you can trust. I love to learn more about the creatures I encounter in nature, and being able to connect with an actual person who can inform me was a fantastic experience.
5 ★ This is already a great application, and it is still going to improve. Beside the knowledge about snakes it can also save someone's life! Not knowing what snake you might be dealing with can lead to a tragedy. It also might prevent from killing a harmles, and a useful being. It is one of not many apps that I call 'priceless'. Lastly, thanks for saving a being's life!
5 ★ Really amazing app. I found a pink coloured baby wolf snake in my yard and it is very difficult to find on internet that whether it is venomous or not. Suddenly I found snake snap on Google and I take their service and within 9 hours I got mail about snake and their specifications. Must suggested app .
5 ★ Great app! Nice devs! Snake ID should come within 48 hours, but I was sent an email in less than an hour. Much better to ID and preserve a helpful snake than just killing a snake because it 'might' be poisonous. Devs are looking to use machine learning to automate identification in the future. Good app to support!
5 ★ Awesome App. I ran through a snake ID website at the same time which led me to the wrong answer. Snakesnap got it right except it wasn't a snake, it was an Eastern glass lizard (legless lizard with eyelids and external ear openings) that looks an awfull lot like a snake ;). Anyway, I learned something new today. Thanks Snakesnap!

5 ★ Overall score: 'A'. Snake ID is typically less than 4 hours. Great concept and I will definitely be using this more in my wildlife control business. It will also give my clients a little more peace of mind, as most snakes in our area are nonvenomous. I look forward to the evolution of this app.
4 ★ Super quick response! You get a pop-up that tells you, you will get a response within 1 to 2 days. I had a response within the hour. It included the type of snake and a short description.
5 ★ Great app! They don't just identify they also provide a lot of information about the species. I asked for the info to be sent via email and it was provided within 5 minutes. With all the snakes in the area I live this app will get a lot of use. I will and would definitely recommend to everyone.
