2 ★ Love the app but don't love the price, and I hate the new update. Now if you want to watch videos out of sequence you have to play around with it to get the video to play. I literally have to double, triple or quadruple click on the video before the one I want to watch to possibly get it to play the video. Annoying! This needs to be fixed.
2 ★ Update: Now that I have made the full purchase for the app (which only lasts a year) the quality of video going and coming is frustratingly blurry. Also now with the updates all of my friends that don't have the full app can't do anything but leave blurry videos. They can't share photos, videos, write notes, fast forward or have options for different emoji faces. I once loved this app and now I think after this year I won't be using it at all. No point with free apps that offer so much more.
4 ★ This app is useful for a monologue while also abstaining from text! A monologue is useful for various reasons, and especially to reduce distractions from derailing important expressions. I prefer text, except for my disabled friend who finds composing/reading a text too challenging. Great to hear voices and see personalities!
3 ★ Some major bugs 😪 I purchased the pro version and am sad to say that the main reason I did this simply does not work. I cannot send video responses at all. It last maybe 1 second. Also, I can't even tell what emojis I'm using because the only last about 1/10th of a second. I've also been attempting to send a links to chat for more than a week to no avail. I'm honestly regretting this pretty expensive purchase 😩 Should have stayed with the free version.
3 ★ Well this app was originally a fun unique way to video chat, subsequent updates have taken away functionality that was once free and locked it behind a paywall, including the ability to skip past messages rewind messages locking away certain emojis which makes no sense whatsoever, while I really like this app, the added premium functions just or not worth purchasing and they should all be things that are part of the basic app
3 ★ Over a year ago I suggested that they make it to where I can tell if I've watched a reaction. I got a reply email from them quickly and STILL NO CHANGE!!! They've made a bunch of stupid changes tho. Charging for basic things, taking a way small gadgets if you don't pay. They updated and RUINED the drawing feature. So I complained about more things but they fixed it so that's nice. And they made the reaction bubbles bigger too
1 ★ The developers keep talking away features that used to be free and making them paid. You are now unable to re-watch older polos past a certain point unless you restore them one by one over 24 hour periods and they are only restored for a month. You are also unable to fast forward, record reactions or use more than three emojis. I have no issue with adding paid features, but taking away free ones and making them paid makes me want to delete the app entirely.
5 ★ I love this Marco Pollo app! It's like having walkie talkies with video cameras. I use this more than I text now since it always works so well. Great job guys n gals who made this app, keep up the good work that keeps the app running so smoothly. Thanks. Update one year later: still my favorite way to keep in touch with people I know, the app is still running smoothly! Good job peoples'.
2 ★ I've recently suffered an eye injury, and had to increase the text size on my phone for readability. This resulted in a very difficult signup and use. The text for the input boxes were entirely obscured for signup. The interface appears to be built with static sized text in mind, the botton halt of most of the words on some if the screens is cut off. For the developer: using my phone's accessibility options I moved the slider for font size to position 6 out of 8.
2 ★ I have waited a year to get my free month of marco pole plus so on July 1 I was able to get 1 free month and it didn't work. Ugh I waited a yr.. it is just too expensive to buy for an entire yr. If I could go monthly for 4.99 it would be worth it. But not for an entire yr all at once. And not for 9.99. That is just too much.
5 ★ My son is always on the go with his work and busy family life. With this app, I am able to talk to him and we can see each other. He can watch my message in real time or whenever he get a second to stop and watch. I am able to see my grandchildren playing at home, or during a sports activity. I love this app!
4 ★ I really like it so far! It's easy to use, and super fun with family and friends. At first it's a little daunting that you can't redo/rerecord videos, but that really adds to the authenticity of it---just as if you were having a face to face conversation. My only reason for not giving it 5 stars is because the free version has super limited features.
2 ★ Really frustrating app. I have requested text several times for the code and I had nothing. Called once, misheard the code, tried again, and it locked me out for a day. I wanted to use this app to get in touch with my family, but the strict security does more harm than good.
2 ★ Worked great as long as you don't skip videos. If you skip vids or try to go back and watch a previous video the scroll at the bottom goes haywire and ju.ps all over. And sometimes you'll find yourself starting from 7 months to a year in the past.
5 ★ I use this app to stay in touch with friends and family all over the world. It's been especially useful during COVID when we couldn't see anyone. When staying in touch with people in different time zones with different schedules and priorities, Marco Polo has been a game changer.
