3 ★ It's ok..not good for Americans. Although you have the option to turn on Imperial (American measurements), it only switches on the items you need. In the actual recipe, it's in metric. So, you end up frantically looking up conversions which is annoying and a bit stressful. Look I get it, Americans are behind the 8 ball on themetric system. Still, 55 a year you could try replacing the amounts in the recipe.
1 ★ I really wanted to love this, but it doesn't remember meals, it rarely actually shows the recipes instead of a blank loading screen, and it often crashes or has errors. The recipes are solid but they are inaccessible and that makes this app not worth the time to download, let alone the money.
5 ★ I love the app, but it is kind of made without bad American stores in mind. I love the concept, The reduced waste, the audio guides, but walmart doesn't stock chestnut mushrooms. I've never even seen or heard of that before. I've shoped Kroger, costco, walmart, and sometimes whole foods, and a lot of these ingredients can't be found. Some things have easy substitutions, but will protabellos ruin my dish. No idea, I'll find out later. And yeah Amazon has everything but it's supposed to be simpler
5 ★ It's fantastic, I'm trying all kinds of new things without any worry of food waste. I've wanted to explore vegetarianism for a long time but everytime I've been foiled by uninspired recipes. Now there's tons of veggie combos (many I'm weary of until I eat them). I learned awhile ago that there is no food I don't like using this app. I've never had a bad meal. A review: Make all your followers jealous every night with beautiful and delicious meals.
3 ★ I love the idea of the app. When the app opens up and loads the recipes, it is easy to use, helps keep my grocery shopping organized and I get to cook cool new recipes. I have continuously had issues opening the app and getting it to load. I have a Samsung phone, so I don't know if it related to that and it works better on iPhones.
5 ★ I've had Sidekick for a long time, but prior to the update I struggled with the pack systems. Now, however, it is absolutely amazing and I've used it weekly for months. It's easy to tweak to suit my family's tastes and has really helped with the health of my mother who recently moved in who has long struggled with gastric paralysis and other GI issues.
2 ★ Not for non meat eaters. There are recipes for Vegetarians and Vegans but if you want flavor you have to wing it and alter the recipe. I've tried dozens of recipes and more often then not they're bland and texture less. The meal pack idea is great and I love that the ingredients and shopping list is integrated in the app. I've just been really disappointed in the meal selection and the flavors of the non meat meals.
3 ★ I really like the app for its function and the quality of recipes, but it seems like every other week, it goes down for a day or two, and if you haven't assigned a pack to your chosen day(s), the Search function breaks, and there's no way to get into the recipes (this is for both iOS and Android installs). It's happened again tonight, and all the groceries we bought yesterday are going to sit in the fridge until the app is fixed — or we figure out some other way to use them.
3 ★ Just got the app and it looks good. Used the trial with good results. A few reasons for the sub par rating. 1) I live in the US and some of the packs are kind of difficult to locate ingredients at a regular store. 2) The pack options seem.....light. Alot of vegetarian options and doesn't feel balanced to protein packs. I understand the team is working on adding more but i think the app is a bit mid level until more things are added. Overall a good app just wish it was a bit better
3 ★ I love the idea for this app. Having packs of meals that reduce waste and shopping lists is brilliant. What I did not like we're the restrictions which meal packs you can add to your account each week. I get the only adding one a week thing and that is fine but don't hide the past options. Some weeks had great options that my family loved some not so much. I am glad I tried it, it's just not for us. Would have been 4 stars if I could have kept my prior selected meal packs after ending the sub.
3 ★ App looks well designed and easy to use, but I'm not going to sign up without a trial. A week trial should be a given for apps like these. Also my girlfriend doesn't like fish, so choosing between meat + fish, and just veggies isn't great. If there were more variety and a trial I might give it a shot but unfortunately it has the bones with none of the substance.
2 ★ Update: They fixed my 3rd issue so I deleted it. Also, I have found some recipes that have 4 portions, but there are very few. Added another star though for the fix that did happen First, every time I go to attach a screenshot for the help page it closes and won't submit. Second, there is no way to change the recipe from 2 portions to 4 despite the FAQ's saying there is. I have looked everywhere. I have never paid so much for an app and now I am regetting it so much.
2 ★ I love the idea of this app, and I love the Sorted guys, but it isn't as useful as it could be. When I add a pack to my planner, I haven't found a way to access the individual recipes from the planner--I have to go back to Explore page and search for the pack. Like others, I have also struggled to get the individual meals to stay assigned to their day, and I would love a 4 person option on all the packs.
4 ★ Just downloaded the app and am thinking I'll probably buy the subscription soon, but I'm already noticing one thing I think may be an issue for me (and perhaps others). I'm personally not a huge fan of seafood, but understand that many are. Maybe add a feature to replace a recipe or simply just take one off the menu for the week so that other features (such as the grocery feature) would still work properly? All in all though looks great so far and can't wait to see what's yet to come!
5 ★ Love this app. The recipes are unique and flavorful. I've been able to cut down on my grocery costs, food waste, and the amount of time I'm cooking. Some of the dishes take a little longer than recommended if it's the first time I'm making the recipe, but it helps to pull all of my ingredients first (like I'm supposed to). I love the narration or the ability to read the recipe on my own. I bought a kitchen scale and kept the measurements metric despite being in the US.
