Founded on February 20, 1969, the Helena Lubienska Institute emerged in a social political context marked by the military dictatorship in Brazil.
Your name, a tribute to the great educator Helena Lubienska of Lenval (born in Poland, lived most of his life in France and died in 1972), a follower of Maria Montessori, which in its methodology, advocated the preparation of an environment in which humans - especially children - could learn from freedom. That did not mean negligence or indifference, but as the development of being. The student went to have his deepest interest aroused and his attention span to better use by the teacher with affection and care.
It was founded the Lubienska with this philosophy. It is an institution that defines itself by adopting a holistic approach the man helping him to develop their cognitive, motor, affective skills, interpersonal relationship, integration and social action.
Everyone could express their opinions and teachers should know their students. No wonder that the Lubienska soon stood out in the educational landscape of the city. Reviewing traditional forms of teaching that practiced submission and passivity of students in the learning process, it became a democratic space where everyone participates with their ideas, criticisms and suggestions. Believes that school learning is constructed through interactions that occur between teachers and students and between them and their peers, trying to promote them in their daily lives, in order to occur significantly to all male and female students.
Sees education as a necessary aid for the construction of the knowledge produced by mankind throughout its history. Turns his attention to individual differences, believing that learning depends on the unique characteristics of each learner.
The Lubienska in its "Pr****" works to tailor their proposals to the real possibilities of each student and student, launching challenges to help them advance their knowledge, directing their work towards the construction of knowledge; know-how and being. In this sense, it is important that pupils and students to learn, learning to consider not only the content but also the organization and acting in the pursuit of knowledge.
The Helena Lubienska Institute began only with early childhood education and has included special children in their classrooms. Over the years, new classes were being formed in a gradual process. In 1977 we came to the first 8th grade class and in 1997 inaugurávamos high school.
Following the development of research in education, deepening the knowledge (through ongoing training of their employees) about new educational and business theories and adopting a holistic approach of man, Lubienska is identified increasingly with the social theory -interacionista constructivist teaching, living, however, with different ideologies, methodologies and philosophies and maintaining open dialogue to man here and now.
