The Journal of the East Valley was founded on March 4, 1989 and this year 2018 complete 29-year history with the Timbo community and Medium Itajaí Valley.
The newspaper was created to meet the needs of the population living in the region to hear from local, regional, state and national, through a printed newspaper.

Over the years the VMY grew and its credibility has become part of regional history. The direction of the VMY accompanying each year, the development of new technologies, but always trying to preserve the history of the area, while maintaining its original principle of informing the community with ethics, professionalism and impartiality, always learning from each print edition.

Currently, with bi-weekly basis (Tuesdays and Fridays), the Journal covers nine cities in the region -

Timbo, Indaial, Benedito Novo, Doctor Pedrinho, Rio dos Cedros, Rodeo, Pomerode, Ascurra and Apiúna. Always taking the best information.

NEWS AND AWARDS

Research conducted by the company Angle Search in 2017 pointed the MVP as the newspaper most reliable among readers of Timbo and region.

Of the respondents 76% chose the MVP as the best Local Newspaper. Already as Regional Newspapers were 52% of respondents who chose the MVP as the best.

The preference of readers by JMV is based on the coverage of the various local and regional events; for having the largest circulation in the region;

to be in tune with the community; nearly 29 years tradition and history of the local and regional community;

It has graduated professionals that preserve the ethics committed to doing journalism with responsibility and impartiality.

The MVP can be accessed both online and in social networks, A team of professionals works to keep both the website of the newspaper of the East Valley as well as the Facebook page, updated with the news that are featured in the print edition.
In addition, through the VMY TV, internet, news of the Middle Valley are disseminated widely and consistently through interviews, surveys and various materials.
