Chapada das Mesas
The Chapada das Mesas National Park protects 160,046 hectares of Cerrado in Carolina counties, Riachão, Strait and Empress in the center-south of Maranhão.
Created in 2005, the Chapada das Mesas National Park is one of the newest national parks in Brazil. buritizais forests, wildernesses, red plateaus of relief, make up a dazzling array of curious rock formations, canyons, caves and waterfalls.
