מערכת הכשרות בד"צ "בית יוסף", הוקמה לפני כשני עשורים על ידי מרן מאור ישראל רבנו עובדיה יוסף זצוק"ל, מתוך מטרה ליישם את פסיקתו ההלכתית בענייני כשרות, לאורו של מרן הבית יוסף – רבנו יוסף קארו, מחבר ה"שלחן ערוך".
רבני הבד"צ
בראשות הבד"צ, העמיד מרן זצוק"ל את בנו הקרוב, הגאון רבי משה יוסף שליט"א, אשר במשך שני עשורים התגורר עם משפחתו בביתו של מרן, ושימשו במסירות יוצאת דופן. במשך השנים, היה מרן זצוק"ל מעורב על בסיס יומי בכל הנעשה במערכת הכשרות, תוך שהוא מעניק את הנחיותיו והוראותיו הפרטניות.
