Description
This synth is not only free, it also has got no ads! Why? Just because I made it for myself and I use it!
Unlike apps that copy classic instruments like Moog, Korg, DSI, Roland or Clavia, QiBrd synthesizer has been designed to:
+ be powerful and controllable without exposing the synth engine
+ have the most possible controls on screen
+ assign the most possible dramatic timbral change to each control
+ show an easy interface to make the sounds evolve and change even with one single hand.
We wanted the most expressive electronic synthesizer that we could ever program.
We followed this idea while creating this musical instrument, avoiding all what can be difficult or tricky, like complex sound generation parameters. Instead, we included all what appeared to have a direct and immediate impact on the sound timbre and evolution. That's the idea behind QiBrd synth.
It has become a very powerful and yet incredibly easy synthesizer, with virtual analog synth sounds, vintage timbres, electronic techno and trance sounds, and even a small drum machine.
The free 20 included sounds use multiple synthesis techniques and span from progressive rock to modern techno, from melodic to noisy, from classic to contemporary, from vintage to trance. They all share two main characteristic:
+ they can be controlled to evolve and change
+ they are easy.
Indeed, every patch is associated to a scale and to the controllers that are exactly aimed to work with that particular sound, so that every touch you make will change something in timbre or in pitch of your synth, yet keeping it always in tune.

5 ★ I don't play instruments or read music, ( basically am clueless), but I am having a lot of fun making cute little melodies. Soon, I will try recording them. Love this app!
5 ★ Seriously deep sound, wide range of musicality and rich controls. Both for experimenting and for ambiance it sounds amazing! Connect to a good pair of speakers, you will hear it!
5 ★ Excellent work! Fantastic modulation ranges and brilliant controller design. Would love to have a few 'USER-X' defined quick-build chords and/or scales, maybe set by real-time 'pad snapshot'.
5 ★ A great fun app. Not sure if flats and sharps can be played though. What would make this app amazing is if it could be controlled using a wind synth.
5 ★ I really like this app, it's simple but incredibly effective for adding a bit of colour to your tracks, really nice free app! Ben Jackson a.k.a. Jackn Bones.
5 ★ Awesome! Pretty easy to understand if you try every little thing. I think that the buttons should be set on linear rather than rotative by default and must importantly this should have more chord customisation.
3 ★ Pretty decent as an instrument, but I'm really not sure why you can't make your own patches. I guess to keep the instrument simple? But it means that while it's pretty expressive, it's also rather limited. There'll never be a set of presets that gets anywhere close to the full range of what a given system can produce.
1 ★ Wow! From the description and reviews it sounds great. Wish it would work. I have installed and reinstalled 3 times now and still keeps crashing closed right when I open it!!!!!! I even deleted all my pictures and have 3 GB free space now. Still will not work on my really nice Samsung Note that has successfully opened and ran every single app I've ever downloaded. All except this one. Sucks.
4 ★ First time trying this. It's fun, but my learning curve is wearing down the battery... I'm determined to learn the intro to "Mr. Crowley" (Bob Daisley's part, w/ Randy Rhodes & Ozzy)! Hey, thanks for developing this fun, free instrument! It's gonna sound bitchen when I pan it through the 5.1 amp system!!! Looks like it has automation, but not sure about MIDI?
3 ★ Nice concept, but too buggy for live play. The app always gets stuck on one of the arpeggio presets and none of the other presets work after that. I've tried on two devices, same thing. Hope you can fix this
5 ★ Purdy decent app.. but can i make my own instruments for this app? I like it. I use it more often than I use korg. After getting really comfortable I can mount my phone on my shifter and utilize the voice instruments speaking to others through my stereo or to add some beppi or synth to my fav tracks while they play. Indepemdant volume at times would be great Over alll greatly impressed by the whole thing. quite a fun app. app has froze up a few times lately after switching phones
5 ★ I'm a musician for 43 years and found your app by accident. This is super fun and easy to use. Well done!
4 ★ This app is pretty good its pretty easy to use, but the only problem I have is that when I play music theres always some kind of crackling and its kinda annoying
5 ★ Does more than most apps you'd pay for in terms of making experimental sound without all the complication. Awesome!
5 ★ Absolutley brilliant. I only found it because i watched a youtube video with adrian utley of Portishead in his home studio and i went on google play and here i am. Thanks. Rob.
