2 ★ I used to love this app: good content and good player, but not long ago, they changed the player of the app, and it became impossible to load a previous chapter of the series you're seeing: the player recognises it as seen, and automatically sends you to the next chapter, sometimes even considering you have already seen it, leading to several spoilers. This happened to me already several times, so I decided to watch the content on my browser... Hope this will get fixed soon...
1 ★ Needs tuning and tweaking to make casting a smooth experience. The latest version made the responsiveness worse. When selecting a casting device, the app freezes. After a few seconds, the casting device can be selected but yet another delay to start the cast stream. I know this is all relevant when watching a movie but makes it a burden when you want to switch shows. Love the app but please make it more responsive (asynchronous is ok) Keep up the good work!
1 ★ Looks good at first sight but low quality. Chromecast is regularly unresponsive and even the workaround using the "Problem with casting" menu item doesn't always work. When watching delayed, now and then the end of the episode is just missing and playing stops, really frustrating. Contacted their support and it seems you have to wait for an hour or so to be able to watch the remaining part. So I think they misunderstood the concept of delayed viewing :S There are also problems when trying to fast forward or rewind using the timeline slider when watching delayed. I preferred older versions of the app. The UX was a lot better (without all these floating popups) and felt less buggy. Chromecast also works a lot better in other apps like VTM Go for example.
2 ★ The current application automatically plays content I haven't requested ( if the last episode of a series is played the app switches to some random content ). Switching subtitles on can also trigger the application to switch content. Connection with chromecast or a smart TV is error prone. The menu on the programmes page doesn't always appear.
1 ★ Aside from always having been very slow and buggy, the app now says it can't find my wifi, while my wifi / chromecast / phone all work fine otherwise. It's been that way for weeks now. I can use the app on data but can't cast to my TV, which makes watching uncomfortable to say the least. And since programs leave so fast, I've missed quite a few that I wanted to see. I refuse to watch nature documentaries on my phone... Last update was two months ago. Hope this gets fixed soon!
2 ★ Very good content. The only problem I've had using the app is that sometimes it won't mark videos I've watched as seen. Particularly when casting to the TV. Also, if I start watching a video on my phone, then cast to the TV, the video will start from the beginning, instead of where I left off. Update: Watching the Journaal Laat on my phone and subtitles are huge, covering most of the screen and the bottom part of them is not even visible :(
1 ★ Says I need to check my wifi. It works perfectly for every app except this one though...
3 ★ I use this app to together with a chrome cast but as of late, only a minority of the content will start to play, while the rest will start loading, but then just skips to next episode, where it will just just repeat the problem until about 5 or more episodes are skipped. After some troubleshooting it seems the 10 second sponsor won't load/play, resulting in skipping the current video and moving on to the next one where it tries to load (but fails to) the sponsor again
1 ★ Can't open app, keeps telling me there's no WiFi connection even though there definitely is
1 ★ Fails in every way. Crashes or freezes when playing media. Can't download podcasts for later listening off-line, or when you might have intermittent signal (on the train). Casting is similarly buggy and prone to break. You're better off just using the browser.
1 ★ App crashes multiple times a day (while listening live radio) and causes very high battery usage (due to the crashes??). Too bad, because at first sight the app looks cool and offers nice features. I really hope they can find a solution for the crashes.
3 ★ If I use this app to see the VRT channels in the cellphone it works ok, but if I tried to cast it to a tv using a Chromecast V3 it do not work. After several tries I realised that I needed to register my personal data on the VRT web throught this APP, then the communication with the Chromecast was established. It will be good if the app inform to the user that this registration step is needed.
1 ★ Extremely bad app. VRT has inefficiënt servers and almost impossible to watch. Even with dsl you get a pixelated image. Layout is illogical and horizontally, not suited for TV. This app is designed by amateurs. They should look into Auvio, french counterpart of the Belgian National tv. That one works perfectly.
3 ★ I love this app, it works great on my phone and tablet. But given the content, I absolutely don't get why they don't make it compatible with Android TV. VRT content is the only thing that I lost when cutting the cord...
2 ★ I still use it daily for casting, but the new version is VERY slow and unresponsive! :( Tip to other casters: use the remote control of your TV to pause/skip forward, it's faster than the app. VRT: if you need testers, I would love to help.
