QR Code Scanner & Scan Barcode 1.6.8 APK requires following permissions:

1 ★ It scans as well as any other QR code app I've seen, but it installs a Lock Screen that cannot be disabled. I've seen responses by the developers saying otherwise, but their instructions are wrong (Setup is currently in the bottom right of the screen, not the upper left) and, even when you get there, the option to turn the lock screen off is not among the possibilities. I've got no problem with ads, so long as they don't overwhelm the phone. That is not the case for this app. I can't even exit the program with repeated Back commands because there is a splash screen where I have to click Exit. I am uninstalling it as soon as I finish this review. (this was supposed to be a new paragraph): The publishers responded to my review (the paragraph above), but I think it was a copy and paste because they only addressed the first complaint (and their advice is still wrong).

1 ★ This app started putting ads on my lockscreen. I had to Google how to fix it and found help on the Samsung page. Guess what they say... "Note that Google Play policy requires that it be clear to the user which app is serving the ad". It was not clear, it took ages to figure out that this app was causing the problem. DO NOT INSTALL THIS APP. Edit: I just read all of the recent reviews, most are similar to this. AND the developer has "responded" to each one with one of two copy/paste responses

2 ★ I downloaded this one night as a second scanner to make sure my primary scanner was actually working. I promptly forgot about installing this one. Two days later, my phone had a hideous lock screen with some battery monitor tools. I thought I had some sort of a malware attack. I understand developers need ads to monetize their apps. Nowhere in the app description does it say it will install this sort of "smart tool." It's extremely deceptive. Yes, you may be able to turn it off in the settings, but it's so sneaky it doesn't even tell you what app is doing it! On top of that, the "smart tool" they added is quite useless and redundant. You can find your own battery percentage. Your phone, in the battery settings, will already tell you how much call time, etc. you have at your current battery level. Most users are probably completely aware of what they can accomplish at their current battery level or don't care. The devs visual design is lacking. It was so ugly I immediately thought something was very wrong with my phone. If you're going to try to make a deceptive smart tool, to not make it an eyesore so it can coexist a little more seamlessly on my phone. Like, look at another app and see how they don't look terrible? Try to do that.

2 ★ Crossed the line when it assumed control over my lockscreen with an uncalled for ad. These ads are intrusive and flawed, they add more of a security risk than they claim to uphold. Not only that, but they are hard to target the app it comes from making them difficult to remove. This is the definition of malware, so be advised when installing

1 ★ The lock screen takeover is not an advertised function of this app and it asks absolutely no permissions before doing this. if you want to start losing control over your personal handheld device then this app is for you. they will respond saying that you can request that the app stop doing this once it starts but I personally don't trust an app that overides bass system settings without my permission to do something that I never asked it to do.

1 ★ I have had this app for months. Today it started showing ads after every phone call and on my lock screen. I had not even opened it today. It's intrusive, annoying, and wrong. I don't mind ads in apps. In fact I expect them. But I don't appreciate an app showing me ads when I am not using it.

1 ★ DO NOT USE THIS APP .the app start to show pop up ads when you go to unlock you phone and the only way to get around it is by turning your phone off and on again. it even started to pop up with ads when trying to do anything on my phone. the second I uninstall it all the ads when away .

2 ★ Worked ok the one or 2 times I used it. When it started popping up ads after phone calls i decided it was time to uninstall it. The developer's excuse that ads are needed to fund their efforts is unacceptable when my phone call usage has nothing to do with their product. I can and have accepted ads within the context of applications I use. The ads which follow my phone calls are beyond an inconvenience - they are an unacceptable nuisance.

1 ★ I made a post about this a few days ago, but it somehow seems to have gotten removed. This app forced an unwanted lock screen and was burning my phone and making it overheat so much that I couldn't hold it without having something over my hand. It was also making my phone lose power at a considerable rate while CHARGING! It also made my other apps inaccessible until I uninstalled this app. All I wanted was a qr scanner, not an app that made my phone inoperable.

1 ★ Terrible, not only screwed up lock screen but kept me from getting to home screen under certain circumstances. If someone was attacking me and I wanted to call cops, I couldn't do it! If you want to run ads, do it when people are running the app, not so it totally messes up someone's phone.

1 ★ Hello person looking through the reviews trying to figure out if you should download this app! I will give the basic run down for you, this app did do what it was supposed to do for me but, it also went way to far when it came to ads. This app created a new lock screen for me and made ads on my home screen. I uninstalled it quickly after figuring this out because I was afraid this app would somehow hack my tablet. All I can say is I wouldn't download this app if I were you.

1 ★ Scanner doesn't work. To add to the frustration, the 'help' questions ask obvious and unhelpful questions, and request that you don't write bad reviews if the scanner doesn't work! And then there are the spam adverts for financial apps. Please can you try to do better than this next version.

1 ★ Do not install this app! Had issues for the first moment, tried to open it after installing wouldn't open properly!! Not only that but even after I only had installed 2 hours on my phone, and ended up just uninstalling it due to I couldn't use it on my phone! No big deal until there was Unauthorized charges for this app on my card account statement for$94.99, I have cancelled, uninstalled and contacted everyone with no response to getting my money refunded, and still trying to get this resolved

1 ★ Automatically changed my lock screen without asking. The lock screen has ads on it and appeared days after i installed it so I had trouble finding what caused it. It does give you the option to disable the screen but I'm not comfortable with how the developers have programmed it to mess with my phone without my permission.

1 ★ App was surprisingly good, but then a few days later lockscreen ads started showing up. Because it felt like malware and because I had to dig around for why it was happening to my phone I removed it. I feel like if I understood from the beginning that this app had lockscreen ads I wouldn't have deleted it so hastily. You may want to update your description to include that. This app also helped me trim the fat from my phone and I uninstalled 5 or 6 other apps that might have been culprits as well.
