Description
Welcome aboard the Public Transport Victoria (PTV) app where you can top up your myki, plan your journey, get travel alerts and more.
The PTV app lets you plan your journey using trains, trams, and buses, making travel around Melbourne and Victoria simple and convenient.
Create an account and register your myki for added security. You can also schedule auto top up so you are always ready to travel.
Personalise the app by saving your favourite routes and stops, and get real time travel notifications for your preferred stops and journeys.
- myki top up: Hold your myki to the back of your phone to check your balance and top up instantly
- Account management: Keep track of your mykis and easily access their balance, expiry dates, transactions, and travel history
- Auto top up: Set up auto top up to ensure you always have sufficient balance on your myki
- Alerts: Stay informed of disruptions to your journey, news and myki
- Real-time information: Get real time departure information for upcoming services
- Live tracking: Watch your service arrive at any stop (available for bus and train only)
- Favourites: Save your favourite stops, lines, journeys, and addresses for fast access
- Reminders: Set journey planner reminders for leaving on time
- Search: Look for destinations, stops, routes and myki outlets, or use your current location to search for nearby transport options.

3 ★ Quickest and easiest way to get where I'm going doesn't show, 755 then switch at bnia 737, but does show waiting 40 mins instead of 20 for a direct bus or walk 20 to take the 753 then the 737 at bnia! Show all options or have it so people can choose multiple criteria!!
2 ★ Interface is ok, but the times are always a couple of minutes or for some reason.... ok figured it out, for some reason the developers thought it was a good idea to add a 'walking' time to get the station. Nice one guys. Smart!
1 ★ Horrid,user unfriendly. I mean, its not a live app, so whats the point when trying to catch a train and the bloody thing left 2mins prior...or not come at all and theres ZERO reason why. You get to the station and its pot luck.. i try to always catch a train that DOESNT go through the loop at end of day.. make more trains do this, but the app has no idea if that train is running or not.
1 ★ This app used to be great before the large update a while ago. Now it's confusing to use and hardly works. It often tells me the wrong train times, and even tells me to get on trains going in the opposite direction of where I am trying to go. It would honestly be easier to call up and find out the timetable at this rate.
3 ★ Constantly getting wrong train info from the app saying trains are coming at X time and when I get there there was actually a train at Y time. Understandable occasionally but it happens so often it must be a bug. Newer app looks nice but is a bit more confusing to use. Should be more emphasis on the "Search" tab because it has all the features that people "want back" from the old app such as the nearby stations/stops and live train times.
1 ★ Too much details which unnecessary calculation start planning from 1st step from our home. It makes too complicated and the app couldn't even display an upcoming train or previous one. It makes things difficult for my travel journey. Pls roll back to the old version or give us an option while you are developing this. I hope you get it. Thanks
1 ★ I swear this app uses to be much better, now that I'm catching trains again it feels clunky. No real time train times, no "next 5" as far as I can tell. It's just a journey planner and nothing more. I can do this on the website so why do I need an app?
2 ★ Train timetables are no longer correct for my local station and elsewhere..either fix it or delete the app!!! Does anyone actually QA the app to make sure it is displaying accurate information.
1 ★ Myki has been plagued with issues since its inception and PTV is no different. The instructions to set up are as clear as mud. Trying to get a refund takes me to an Error 503 page. Their websites are idiotically dysfunctional and I find the only way to solve anything is to call their helpline half a dozen times to get anything sorted out.
2 ★ I checked a bus trip the night before I left so I knew what time to wake up at to arrive at work on time. Wake up, now that bus is scheduled 2 hours later than literally the night before. Now the app keeps trying to send me on convoluted trips that will have me walking for 1km then getting on two separate buses and a train just so I can arrive late.
4 ★ This app is /was very helpful for me.. BUT from last 2-3weeks onwards it is crashing the moment i click on 'depart now' option... Otherwise it works fine, BUT i unable to plan my travel ahead of time because of this 'depart now' error.. Please do look into this error... Hope it will be fixed asap...
2 ★ The time table is wrong. I have missed trains or turned up way to early. I messaged PTV who never responded. Other apps are much better such as Citymapp. They give you real time travel and you can see where the trains is and it has the delays to your train as well.
1 ★ This app has literally one function, get you from point a to point b in the most efficient way possible but it somehow fails to do so fairly often. If you have no clue where you're going I guess its the best option? It is a garbage app though
5 ★ It does everything you need it to very well. The time and date selection can be a bit tedious if you're going to a date fairly far in the future, however this is just a small inconvenience and it's perfectly fine 99.9% of the time. Visually appealing and easy to use, I even requested a small change in the feedback section and they actually added it!
1 ★ Its a really useful app although it has many issues. Sometimes you put in journey planner one station to another and ptv will tell you to get on a train that doesn't stop at your station. The app also crashes alot when you try to look at later journeys.
