3 ★ An OK app but the upgrades don't show up half the time. They regularly disappear and you have to open and close the app multiple times to trick it into showing them. I always take a screenshot just in case, but I shouldn't have to. Also the fee is quite high!
1 ★ I don't normally leave a review for apps, but I will make an exception for this one. It is unusable. There is a pop-up that asks you to subscribe to something or other, and all this does is then freeze the app. Tried 6 times to see what seat auctions there were and in the end gave up.
2 ★ Pretty poor. I put in my travel details to upgrade my ticket. Found the right train ,then went to bid on the upgrade then spotted that the upgrade was for a totally different travel time. The upgrade wouldn't have been valid on the train I was travelling on!!! Be very careful!
1 ★ Signed up online, downloaded and opened the app, entered sign-up details, password apparently not right. Followed reset link, changed it, apparently it's still not the correct password. Using Google password manager so it's not a fat finger my side. Useless.
1 ★ Awful. I won an auction and already had payment details stored. The payment failed even though the card was fine and the system kept failing when I tried to add another card meaning I lost out on the upgrade.
1 ★ Everytime I open the app it asks me about notifications when I've already selected that I don't want any. Yet it keeps popping up. It's so annoying it delays actually being able to use the app! I've made my choice why keep asking!
3 ★ Can't sign up as does not let me save card. I installed app today. I want to upgrade to first class so need to save card. I enter card details. I need to confirm on Bank App. I confirm on Bank App. I return to Seatfrog App but the page to submit payment is not there. I need to resubmit. I go round the above loop 2 more times. Can't bid for upgrade. ****Update**** if you go through the one time passcode method it does work. Will amend review based on future experience
1 ★ Had 2 tickets, tried to buy upgrade for both, but only gave me 1 upgrade. 2nd upgrade was in a different coach. Contacted them, they said it was a bug & 1st upgrade would be refunded....never saw the money.
2 ★ Upgrade is a downgrade. Had to exit and restart twice to get my trip details into the app. No UAT? New logos are pointless if the app is not working. And looking at previous reviews, clearly the developers are aware and disinterested in a solution.
1 ★ App couldn't find my booking with LNER. So search date/dep/arr/time to locate train ok but then later reports that winning bid for upgrade was 35 pounds when my bid was 60 - go figure. Basically it's rubbish & completely wasted my time while extracting data.
4 ★ Was worried it wouldn't work..... Seemed to be too good to be true. Tried it on a non peak service and yes won it for the reserve amount. Would be good if a link to Apple or Google wallet direct from the app was available. I've deducted one star for that.
2 ★ Not sure it offers a worthwhile deal. It wants an opening bid of £35 for a train I regularly use, but I can buy a first class ticket for around £26 anyway. Maybe it's worth a try for longer journeys? My journey is only 30 mins.
1 ★ I don't think the developers use the app, because it's unwieldy. It's got some plus points but needs to be changed so that's it's quicker to use, especially when you use it a lot. Update: the app switched my bid from the train I was about to catch to one 24 hours later, which I had no inclination nor opportunity to catch. There's no function to cancel this bid, so I expect to be billed for an upgrade for a train I caught 24 hours earlier. The email helpline provided bounced back. Amateurish.
3 ★ Poor interface that's regularly glitchy! Platform is not as cheap as it used to be since they decided to introduce a "savings fee", the name of which is just frankly patronising (just call it a booking fee 🙄 don't tell me I have a £0 booking fee then charge me a £3 savings fee!). They also appear to have increased the hidden auction break points on routes a few times in recent months which is the shame.
1 ★ So frustrating. I was randomly put in an auction I did not want for an upgrade on journey I had no ticket for. The auction closed immediately (way before it had been scheduled to). I have repeatedly emailed seatfrog asking for a refund. There is no other contact. Hoping by posting this bad review someone gets in touch and does something to resolve this issue. Terrible customer service.
