1 ★ I bought tickets and then changed my mobile phone. They are locked to the phone apparatus and the app doesn't produce a new QR and hides purchased tickets when detecting a new phone. The conductor insisted on seeing QR. Email receipts were not enough. I called Customer Service twice and they charged my phone for 20 min each time. As soon as I tried to explain the problem the operator hung up twice. I have a right to get the service I paid for and ÖBB and this app makes it next to impossible....
3 ★ Not very happy. Bought a 1 week Maximo ticket. With all the notifications you can get the App didn't notify of the week ticket expiry which would have been extremely helpful as it cost me an extra 100 EUR because I forgot about the exact expiry time. For the rest quite useful.
5 ★ This app is amazing, huge improvement compared to previous version! Keep up with the good work!
1 ★ I press on "Buy ticket" button and the app says: "You already indicated you don't need a ticket" when I have selected specifically the buy ticket option on the home screen. Something like this doesn’t happen for the first time, previuosly in spring this year there was maintenance on the servers and buying tickets was impossible for several days. DB Navigator is a bit better in this respect.
1 ★ I had to buy two tickets because it kept saying my first one was expired validation. Could never find directions, had to go to an office for a print out.
3 ★ Sometimes ok, at other times it just drives me crazy. It's just not built for frequent usage. Everything just takes time and several attempts. Searching for a city doesn't always work - I type in the city and it just shows me the loading icon. I have to restart the app a few times to get it to work again, although I searched already that route twice that day!! What's the point of suggesting me cities I never go to! Have a look at the Trainline app in the UK if you want to build a good app.
2 ★ Frustrating experience. Sometimes freezes when you open it back up (extremely annoying when you have to show a ticket, but ÖBB staff seem to know that the app is a POS), constantly logs you out (why does the app need to be restarted when you log in???). I literally only want to buy tickets and display them. I wish you could save credit card details so future purchases would go quicker. The route planning stuff could go imho, there are better apps for that anyway.
3 ★ If you have to use the ÖBB app, it'll work, but it needs some work. Yes, you can buy your ticket. The layout is pretty good for functionality. Unfortunately the prediction for which station you're trying to go to is worse than in physical ticket machines, the app regularly logs you out or restarts for no reason, and the saved trips function is very difficult to edit. After removing a few saved trips I can no longer add new ones, despite having only one on my main screen. Please update!
4 ★ In fairness, this app has improved a lot over time. The earlier verssion was plagued by problems, but you now can buy tickets in a reasonably frustration-free manner and the timetable-information & UX are pretty good. Problems that remain: * When one puts the application into the background for a time (i.e. opening up the schedule, leaving it, and wanting to buy a ticket 30min later), the connection times out with an error message. This could be more robust. * If you have the schedule open and there are connection problems, one item in the list of trains always stays in the same place while the others move as you scroll up and down. * There's no feedback/report problem button. Support is just a phone number, reflecting antiquated thinking about the issue.
1 ★ Worst User Experience ever! took me >10mins to buy a ticket!! 1. App needs update to do anything. why is it not backwards compatible? 2. seeing all stops on the journes is very well hidden. intuitively clicking on the start/destination in the header takes you back from your selection. 3. leaving app while buying a card cancels payment method and looses entered information. 4. thanks for buying page - back button does not work.
1 ★ Horrible latency in every action in the app. Searching for a connection takes ~5 seconds, _as does every return to the page with connecions_ or clicking "later" or "earlier". The "back" button sometimes disappears and sometimes doesn't remember previous state. Awkward inputs for time and date. Impossible to change language. Unstable. The only nice part is the "SimplyGo!" feature which works pretty well, it's easy to use and stable, very convenient.
1 ★ It is the worst public transport app I've ever seen!!! When the conductor comes and you want to show the ticket even when you have the app and ticket open, first thing it does is delete the screen and try to reload the ticket (maybe to verify it or something) And it doesn't work because the wireless lan in the train doesn't work and you're in a tunnel or area where there is no Internet connection. So you don't have a ticket, you can imagine what will happen; you get fined!
4 ★ The February 2023 update to the UI made things made things a little more complicated to find in my opinion. I have also noticed in the journey preview that sometimes negative time is shown (e.g. -5 minute walk to your connection or similar) and that the end of a connection falsely advertises the next connection (e.g. in 0 minutes take the train XYZ when I had just arrived and there would normally be more time). I would love a "report bug" button for situations like this.
1 ★ The app crashes CONSTANTLY. Clicked too fast? Sorry, it crashed. Clicked too slow? Hah, it crashed. Tried to pay for a ticket? Hah, it crashed. I am tired of having to explain to staff that the app crashes, having to wait for it to reload and MAYBE (if you're lucky) show your ticket. Very shocked that these issues aren't being resolved despite multiple people complaining! Take a hint!!
1 ★ Stability and usability isses since large UI overhaul. Has bugs concerning taking discounts into account at checkout - absolute deal breaker. Favorite routes: Pls enable selecting a journey from the preview without navigating to the time table. Would save the user lots of time! Location permission: even after allowing location tracking it still gives a pop-up concerning location at every single launch. Why? Add a precise tracking into the trip search menu for those who require it...
