Download the latest NavMeter GPS Maps speedometer application, version 2.16.4, compatible with Windows 10/11 (using emulators such as Bluestacks), Android devices. This free Travel & Local app is developed by Ettore Zaffaroni and is easy to download and install.

Description
HOW TO START
Open NavMeter and enable auto activation. Then open Maps and start the navigator: the speedometer will appear; drag it wherever you like with your finger. Tap it quickly if you want to make it disappear for few seconds.
Every time you will start the navigator, the speedometer will appear where you placed it.
If you don’t want it to appear anymore, just disable auto activation.
MULTIPURPOSE NOTIFICATION
When the indicators are active, a notification appears. You can toggle between day and night mode and hide indicators from that. If indicators had been activated manually, you can also switch them off.
CUSTOMIZE THE INDICATORS
Indicators are fully customizable: you can edit color, dimensions, shape and transparency. You can choose the unit of measurements you prefer and you can decide if display them or not.
ACTIVATE WITH OTHER APPS
By default, Indicators are activated automatically only with Maps navigator. You can activate them with any application simply going to Settings and selecting “Other apps”.
HUD
NavMeter features a HUD also that you can activate from menu. Open it and place your device under the windshield: speed, time, altitude and compass will be reflected in it (it works when it’s dark).
TASKER PLUGIN
NavMeter features a Tasker plugin which provides some actions to enable and disable auto actvation and indicators and to change night-day mode.

PERMISSIONS
NavMeter requires the following permissions to work:
Precise location necessary to get GPS data (speedometer, altimeter, coordinates)
Google Play billing service necessary to purchase the full version
Read phone status necessary to check for incoming and outgoing calls. This application does not interact with phone calls.
Draw over other apps necessary to display indicators over other applications and in the lockscreen
Run at startup to make automatic activation work after a reboot
This app uses Accessibility services.

NavMeter GPS Maps speedometer 2.16.4 APK requires following permissions:
Allows an app to create windows using the type TYPE_APPLICATION_OVERLAY, shown on top of all other apps.
Allows an app to access precise location.
Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.
Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.
Allows applications to open network sockets.

2 ★ It could be perfect, because its stable, nice and simple design. BUT: it does not calculate average speed for a few seconds like other apps do, so it jumps even +/- 5 km/h when I try to drive constant (on highway, no cruise control).
4 ★ Pretty good. Only thing, on the Samsung s7, when i close maps without killing the app, the speed mark stays on the homescreen. No big deal, works very well otherwise.
3 ★ Compass measurement is inaccurate- checked it against another app on the same device (GPS speedometer) as well as magnetic compass in the car. Reads NW when heading due north, or 340 degrees when it should be 360/0.
3 ★ Works well with Google maps but can't seem to get it to work with other apps despite checking the box that allows other ap ps to activate this app
5 ★ Extremely useful. Google Maps left the speedometer out, and this fills the blank. Unobtrusive and super simple, this app makes Maps far more usable. Great app
3 ★ Does not turn off if not using a map display. No way to use miles rather than metric.
1 ★ Don't know how to change the miles per hour from kilometers
