App Lock - Lock Apps, Password 1.7.1 APK requires following permissions:

Allows an application to collect component usage statistics
Declaring the permission implies intention to use the API and the user of the device can grant permission through the Settings application.

Allows an application to receive the ACTION_BOOT_COMPLETED that is broadcast after the system finishes booting.

Permission an application must hold in order to use ACTION_REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS.

Allows an app to create windows using the type TYPE_APPLICATION_OVERLAY, shown on top of all other apps.

Required to be able to access the camera device.

Allows access to the vibrator.

Allows applications to access information about networks.

Allows an application to read from external storage.

Allows an app to use fingerprint hardware.

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.

3 ★ Easy to use. I don't like that when you are asked for the pin or fingerprint, when you go to swipe away, it leaves the image of the screen of what's actually on the app for someone else to see as a separate screen. Although you can't click and get more info, I don't even want them to see that much. It seems like the app creates a cover screen but doesn't block all content from the locked app from being seen.

3 ★ When it works, it's one of the better protection apps on the Play Store. Two big issues: 1. You have to give it permission to monitor your usage. That's not necessary when it's also given permission to interact with apps. It's also a huge vulnerability. 2. When an app is updated, it unlocks. Not sure if the update disconnects it from App Lock or if the version change reinstalls a new app in the old app's place. Regardless, my apps get unlocked on a weekly basis, so it's become unusable.

4 ★ The app is great, easy to setup and use. Ads are extremely annoying though and they make the app look and feel cheap, 90-s style. Is there a paid subscription to get rid of them? The only issue I had is the lock view opens too late exposing the locked app for a fraction of a second but enough to gather context. I submitted my feedback two times via the app, no response so far.

2 ★ Awful. I immediately regretted downloading. I'd been using another for years, but recently it began draining my battery, so I tried this one. First of all, it locks when I open an app, AND when I got to close it. The previous app I was using, had a feature that allowed a chosen amount of time (I used 2 minutes) where I could switch between apps without having to unlock them each time, as long as it was within the time allotment. Other reasons too. Not enough space here to provide them.

5 ★ Works very well. I tried so many other app lockers from Google Play and this is by far the easiest to setup and use. The only thing I'd suggest is the ability to unlock all apps at once just by unlocking any locked app so I don't have to re-enter the pin/password for each app separately while screen is still on. As a side, InShot makes awesome apps, I'm using several of them and they're all quality software. And no, I'm not paid to advertise them, I'm just making an honest observation.

4 ★ 9/13/2022 update Reason for 4 stars is that there are times it does not work and have to use the PIN. -------------- I have used multiple app locks over the years and through the many iterations of Android OS version they stop working. This one I found and liking it, I have a paid version and its been good without any annoyance that comes with the other apps.

3 ★ Update: appreciate they are tackling the battery issue. Update 2: When rebooting phone, app does not apply locks unless I open it first. WIP. New: Custom lock time does not work as expected. When unlocking apps and jumping from one to another, it asks for code again, basically bypassing the time to stay unlocked. Great that it works, but annoying when trying to jump around multiple apps. Please check this. Pixel 6a. Response to question...please re-read above. It has your answer. Thx.

5 ★ Works great! Almost always kicks in as soon as I turn on the phone. Unlike other apps I've had to activate every time I turn on my phone. The only requests I have is I would like to be able to choose which apps I want to relock instantly and which ones I don't. I would also like if I could have more than one password. So not all my apps would have the same. Other than that great job!

4 ★ Would give this 5 stars if it wasn't for a somewhat bothersome issue on the Pixel 7 Pro. When launching an app that's locked via App Lock, the fingerprint reader appears for about .5 seconds and then disappears before you can actually unlock with fingerprint. I've tried this on the free and upgraded version and it's the same behavior. It would be a 5 star app if this were to be fixed.

4 ★ Its pretty effective for it's purpose. It just glitches after a while. I do see a flaw may not occur to everyone that the app could either warn users or add a function to fix. If you put a lock on your gallery app, Someone can still go to file manager and go to DCIM and see pics or go to settings and then storage manager. Or a photo editing app and start project using gallery or go on Google and do image search. You have to lock all the apps that have pic access (I ended up doing that)

1 ★ I had this app on my phone for a couple of months. It became super glitchy after a week or so, not blocking apps until 10+ seconds after tapping them open. I uninstalled it recently as it wasn't working like it had been after the initial install. It had taken over my lock screen, blocked notifications, & also has caused some issues with how the social media apps I use function. Even after being uninstalled for over 2 or more weeks now, the apps are updated & still out of whack. DO NOT RECOMMEND

4 ★ Fingerprint reader falls short! Will not recognize fingerprint while other apps recognize with no problem. Uninstalled and may try again at a later date. Update ~ Deleted all fingerprints from Android Settings and reset. Fingerprint now works without issue. Rated 4 stars because about 50% of the time programs will open before App Lock launches a few seconds later.

5 ★ Best app locker so far!! Used so many app lockers in the past and they all had one thing in common is that they cannot lock the setting app on my samsung phone or tablet. X locks does lock the settings. If you can't lock the settings app, then it is easy to defeat any app locker. This is on the free version. This will be 5 stars as long as X Lock makes sure it can continue to lock the setting app on the phones or tablets.

3 ★ Easy to setup and use but not secure at all. Too easy to deactivate and uninstall... it took my teenage son literally 30 seconds to bypass and then unistall it without the pass code. It always shows running in the notification and if someone just turns off the notification it stops working. Then all they have to do is deactivate it, which it prompts you to do if you try to uninstall the app. Once deactuvated it can be uninstalled.

5 ★ This app is sooo useful. You can do patterns, there's a finger recognizer, and even a pin those are all the different choice you can pick from and also you can go into the app and if you want to cut the app off so your other apps want be locked App Lock has in settings turn off and you press the button and it will turn of the app lock untill your ready to turn it back on. And the cool part is if someone tries to get into your apps App lock will take a intruder selfie.
