What is Rosicrucianism?
Rosicrucianism is a philosophical and spiritual fraternity said to have been founded in late medieval Germany by Christian Rosenkreuz. It promotes a teaching "built on esoteric truths of the ancient past", which, "concealed from the average man, provide insight into nature, the physical universe and the spiritual realm."

In the early 17th century, the Rosicrucian manifestos caused excitement throughout Europe by declaring the existence of a secret brotherhood of alchemists and healer-sages who were preparing to transform the arts, sciences, religion, and political and intellectual landscape of Europe through a so-called "Rosicrucian Enlightenment". Rosicrucianism is symbolized by the Rosy Cross or Rose Cross, and inspired some of the Masonic rites of the Freemasons.


What was the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn?
The Golden Dawn was a British organization or fraternity devoted to the study and practice of esoteric spirituality, metaphysics, and the paranormal. Known as a "magickal order", they focused on theurgy, ritual, and spiritual development. Their system was based on hierarchy and initiation, similar to the Masonic Lodges, but women were admitted on an equal basis with men.
