This app contains an arcane alchemical book or tract on the making of the Philosopher's Stone or Elixir. The work was originally published by Johann Grasshof (Hermannus Condeesyanus) in "Dyas chymica tripartita" in Frankfurt, Germany in 1625. That same year, a Latin translation of the work was also included in the publication of the Musaeum Hermeticum (or Hermetic Museum). Even at that time, the work was believed or purported to be about 200 years old and originally authored by a German sage who had successfully produced the Philosopher's Stone through the process and methods of alchemy. The book presented here has been translated into English from the original German and Latin. Great for anyone interested in alchemy, chemistry, esoteric and occult mysteries, or the history of science!

What is the Philosopher's Stone?
The Stone of the Philosophers (or Lapis Philosophorum) is a legendary alchemical substance capable of turning base metals into gold. Also called the Universal Medicine, Elixir of Life, or Tincture, it was believed to offer healing, rejuvenation, and even immortality. Symbolically, it stood for perfection, enlightenment, and heavenly bliss, and was sought after for many centuries by alchemists the world over. Efforts to produce the Philosopher's Stone by various means were known as the Magnum Opus or "Great Work".
