Description
The municipality of Sena Madureira is located approximately 146 km northwest of the state capital of Acre. The city has an estimated population of approximately 45 thousand inhabitants (Source: IBGE Cidades - 2018). Like many other municipalities, Sena Madureira faces a number of structural and social problems.
A very visible social problem in the municipality is the huge amount of dogs that are abandoned in the streets. Sensitized by the precarious situation of these animals, the students developed a smartphone application, which allows registering "PetStop". PetStops are places where there is a feed and water stand for abandoned animals to feed themselves. The points will be logged and viewed by the application, so that city residents can meet and voluntarily supply PetStops with feed and water.
In addition, it is an opportunity to practice learning the disciplines of programming logic, database and web design acquired in the Technical Course in Computer Science. The "MIT App Inventor 2" platform was chosen for application development because it uses an intuitive and visual programming language.
The project was designed by the students: Ranielle, André and Jhonatan from the 2nd year "B" class of the Technical Course in Computer Science - Sena Madureira Campus , guided by Professor Me. Airton Gaio Junior
