This application aims to teach rounding a magnitude together with its error. The user will be able to check if its rounding is correct by entering the original values ​​without rounding and the rounded ones. The application is intended for use in teaching laboratory experiences where students perform measurements and finally have to express their results correctly rounded off with errors. Therefore the application can help them verify their results. Below we describe its use.
On the initial screen you can see the video that explains how to round a magnitude along with its error. The "Your rounding" button accesses the screen that allows the user to check if their rounding is correct. The values ​​of the measured quantity and its unrounded error are entered in the boxes of the first row, that is, as they have been obtained when carrying out the experiments. Both values ​​must be in the same units and using the point as the decimal symbol. In the following cells of the second row, the rounded values ​​of the magnitude and its error are written as considered by the user. To verify that they are correct, press the "VERIFY" button. On the screen it is shown if each one of them is correct. The application shows a brief summary of the criteria used to round off the error and magnitude ("Help" button).
