Description
This app is a MUST for all developers looking for an easy intuitive way to control their custom Bluetooth-enabled devices. I've tried Bluetooth terminal apps ... but if you want an intuitive layout, you have to tailor your device commands to a standard keyboard. In addition, with a terminal app, all of the keys are on the screen all of the time ... and there is generally no way to send non-printing control characters.
This free version features no advertisements and a simple, no frills, interface. You can save up to 5 custom layouts consisting of up to 6 keys. If this idea works well for you, you can download the extended version (XT) and support further development and future enhancements. The app has been tested on 7" tablets, small phones and large phones ... it all just seems to work. For more information, visit http://bluetoothkeypad.eclecticstudio.com.
NOTE: This app does not communicate directly with a PC or another Android phone or tablet. It was developed to allow developers to add a wireless character-based serial interface to their projects built using an Arduino or PIC microcontroller connected to a suitable Bluetooth module such as an HC-05 or HC-06.
This app was developed using MIT App Inventor 2. Thanks to MIT for picking up the project started by Google and released into the public domain.
