The routine check-up is a management tool that evaluates the quality of the care of the in order to improve processes and results, assisting the Infection Control Service (SCIH) and nursing managers in their respective sectors.

This instrument makes it possible to verify on the spot whether the basic infection prevention routines are being applied or not and whether the goals proposed by the Nursing Management and the SCIH are being reached.

The check routine is an instrument for evaluating outcome indicators, which consists of items that assess the topics:
I) Hand hygiene;
II) Respiratory tract;
III) Vascular access;
IV) Urinary tract;
V) Insulation.

The instrument can be applied once a month in the open areas (apartments and infirmaries) of the institution.

Nonconformity indicators are generated for technicians and nursing assistants from the open (non-critical) sectors, as well as evaluating the Nursing Supervision of each sector.
