This App, commissioned by ASDinfoWales, provides autistic individuals with a structured approach to searching and applying for work. When considering applying for jobs it is important that autistic individuals consider their personal circumstances to ensure that they are applying for jobs that are suitable and manageable for them.

The first step towards finding suitable employment is to consider what you will or will not be able to manage, on a daily basis. It is important to recognise what work environment you will feel most comfortable with, and what environments you will find difficult to cope with.

First, choose 'My Job Preferences' to load your responses from the ASDinfoWales website. If you haven't used the web service before, simply visit www.ASDinfoWales.co.uk/searching-for-work-tool and register a free account first.

When you are ready to compare how well your skills and preferences match those required by a job that is being advertised select 'Analyse New Job' from the menu.

Answer as many questions as you can when analysing a Job: the more information that you give the App, the more accurate the results will be.

The App will use your answers to calculate an overall score - telling you how well your skills and preferences match those required by the job you are analysing.

You can save your progress, and re-visit the Job later if you think of any additional skills or working conditions that are important.

Additionally, if you have received an interview invitation you can use this App to help you to plan for the interview. Add the interview details to the App using the 'Add Job Interview' menu option, and the App will set up local notifications to remind you of the actions to complete prior to and on the day of your interview.
