The Festival of Tulhas "Maranhão: Danças e Festas" is a gastronomy event that aims to serve as a cultural asset of several economic flows, connecting the local traditional knowledge present in its popular imagination with new
technologies for the gastronomy and for the tourism of experience.

The Festival will promote dialogues and cultural exchanges between producers and traditional communities, such as coconut breakers, indigenous and traditional people from terreiros and students, cooks, chefs, artists, cultural producers, tourist market agents, tourists and with all interested community of São Luís, the State of Maranhão and other regions of the country and beyond.

The event will be held in the historic center of São Luís, occupying public spaces, hotels, restaurants, cultural centers and traditional markets, providing a great cultural experience around food, its stories, myths and taboos.
