3 ★ I've had this app for awhile now and it does randomly switch from App controlled amp back to the amp controls on the amp. Is there a reason for this? Also I have an iPad I wish I was able to use for this app. Are updates done for this app or are there going to continue to be improvements and integrations. App controlled amp settings is convenient and user friendly in lots of ways. It should continue to be improved.
1 ★ Garbage. Got the code today, no retro USB cable came with it to connect to laptop. Thought no biggie I will use the app to set up some more usable tones... no becuase the app doesn't connect to the code. Great as a giant apple music Bluetooth speaker though. **** follow Alex Zubiate's tip in his review below**** forget all past Bluetooth connections and then rescan for amp in the gateway amp and the app should finally connect.
3 ★ When it works and connects to your amp it's fantastic, super useful. Strangely it didn't work on my Galaxy note8, so just for experiment I took out my old note4(rooted, with Lineage OS) and I've was connected right away. Something is not right with this app and it needs a fix.
5 ★ Everyone complaining about connectivity is just impatient and lazy honestly. Bluetooth on anything can be finicky... The presets are pretty decent, the customizing tools and presets you can additionally download and edit further, the variety of tones and effects you can put together are essentially all you could ever ask for if you're not the type that wants to have a library of pedals.
4 ★ These reviews are ridiculous. The app works fine. I'm on a Pixel 2 still, and I have zero issues getting it to connect with my Code amplifier. Once you connect your phone via Bluetooth, you have to go into the menu in the app itself and connect to the amp from there. It works fine. It could be improved, and I'm sure Marshall is going to continue to develop this way of using a digital amp. I'm a tech geek with a whole lot of smart home tech and I play a lot of guitar.
4 ★ So far so good. I don't understand the negative reviews. The Bluetooth connection is rather quick and controlling presents and effect parameters work, and are fairly simple to manage and set. The user interface on the app could use a little work but other than that, it's pretty cool.
4 ★ I've had very little trouble with this app on my Android tablet, not so much so on my apple iPhone. It is quite convenient for editing settings on the Code amp. I only use my iPhone when necessary; just stick to my tablet mostly. Overall it's a good app, just wouldn't hurt to update a little.
1 ★ The name of the app needs to change. Drives me nuts every time I look for it, I have to search on the Play store for it BLUETOOTH NEEDS TO GO AWAY. Why can I play music through my Code, but this app can't seem to find it? BT is already horrible enough, but this app just makes me dumbfounded
1 ★ Works great the first time, after that it won't connect to the amp. You have to reinstall each time to get it to keep working. Love the amp, hate the app.
5 ★ Works perfectly on S10, Tab 6 and Tab A 2018 however UI has room for improvements.
1 ★ When I first got this amp it worked great. But I cannot connect to the amp anymore. Connected the PC to update the firmware....still nothing.
1 ★ Use to work great and now I can't connect my phone to the gateway app ever. Trash app by an even more trash company. Haven't seen them even attempt to resolve the issue. Extremely disappointed
4 ★ Not bad. my phone Huawai P20 pro will connect with amp via bluetooth but I can't control the amp with phone. I have to delete all Bluetooth pairing for the app to be able to recongnise the amp and for me to be able to control it with my phone, don't need to touch wifi settings at all. I had the same issue with my Samsung S8, my S4 etc. I just take one of my old phones just to control the amp.
4 ★ It can be problematic to get connected but once it is it works really well and best run with a tablet if you are tweaking the dials. I had issues connecting, I could pair with the Code but could not get the Gateway app to recognise the pairing. However I have since worked out the the Gateway app is only requesting the first pairing, expecting that to be the Code, but many phones will store pairings in the order they were made. So it's worth clearing/unpairing all historic pairings from your phone, then try the standard first connection approach. 1. Turn off the Code 2. Unpair all previous devices 2. Turn off Bluetooth, let it properly shut down 3. Turn on Bluetooth 4. Reinstall the Gateway app 5. Turn on the Code 6. Press 'Rev' and 'Power' on the Code to enable pairing mode 7. Scan from your phone to detec the Code, then pair 8. Once paired, open the Gateway app This should allow you to connect to the Code. If you don't see the Code and Phone icon in the bottom left corner on the opening screen, you can press that area any way, you should see the icons and get message to 'Tap to Sync', but chances are it hasn't recognised the Code.
4 ★ Works normally, sometimes does not recognize the amp and does not save presets at the moment I tap to save them. Add the feature to try presets from mymarshall site right from the app to amp
