Download the latest HomeWAV application, version 2.17.1, compatible with Windows 10/11 (using emulators such as Bluestacks), Android devices. This free Communication app is developed by HomeWAV, LLC and is easy to download and install.
Previous versions, including 2.17.1, 2.17.0, 2.16.1, 2.15.0, 2.13.3, 2.12.1, 2.11.4, are also available. If you need help or have any problems, please let us know.
Description
HomeWAV Mobile App Features:
- New to HomeWAV? Create a free account.
- Returning visitor? Login with your username and password.
- Fully registered and approved visitors will be able to choose the facility and add inmate.
- See available funds, add funds or transfer funds.
- Add, update or change credit/debit information.
- Only pay for the minutes you use. No plans or packages.
- Once logged in, the inmate will see you are available and can initiated a phone call, video call or message (*If allowed by facility).
- Visitor will receive notification once inmate is logged in.
- Easily schedule onsite visits (*If allowed by facility).
- No scheduling required for remote video visitations.
For best results, a WIFI connection and use of headset are suggested.
Note: Not available at all facilities. Phone and video costs will vary.

2 ★ The app has to be restarted and or reinstalled frequently. It takes 15-20 seconds to connect (with time running). The camera feature often doesn't work, requiring a phone restart. The video and or audio will freeze up and disconnect the call. And if a text or call comes through my phone, even if I make no effort to acknowledge the interruption, the app will glitch, often causing the call to drop.
1 ★ steals time during every visit (we've watched the seconds skip), freezes up, sometimes there's no audio or it echoes and sometimes it won't connect at all but still takes minutes away. As expensive as it is to use you'd think it would work better and why steal our time when you're charging us out the wazoo already. oh and I have an excellent phone and WiFi so it's the app.
1 ★ This app is almost like a scam. They offer you a service, you add money and they basically steal it from you. The connection issues are horrific. The app will barely allow you to answer the call. When and if it connects the call has so much lag, you never even see a face or hear the person. With in seconds the call drops. I have hit the report bug button still no use. The app just takes my money. I can't even send a video message.
1 ★ Oh my Lord this app is awful. First of all, the inmate's voice plays from the small speaker that you're supposed to put your phone up to during a call, not the regular speaker that allows you to hear a person and see their face at the same time. And then most of the time he can't hear me at all! I've tried my Bluetooth headset and 2 different speakers.... 75% of the time he gets no sound on his end. But we still get charged. Video messages i receive are zoomed in like 4x. HATE THIS APP.
1 ★ Really bad connections 90% of the time. 2 stars only because when we can hear each other and it's not frozen, we can communicate. Which is better than nothing. It seems whenever we get to talking about something important, the app stutters, freezes, but continues to charge. Revisited this review. App freezes and continues to charge more often than we're able to converse. It's annoying. In one call, she had to call back 10x. Each time she hung up, the indicator went immediately from 1 to 5 bars.
2 ★ Most of the time the app doesn't work. My LO leaves me messages and the last 4 it says video can't be played. 😠😠😠what's the point of having it!!! Most of the time when she calls the sound is horrible...either very loud and distorted or you can't hear. Sometimes you can't see them it's just a white screen. It's soooo aggravating!!!!! PLEASE fix these issues😠😠😠😠
4 ★ I use homeWAV to communicate and talk to my friend who is in Grant County, WA. At first I liked it, but now the quality of the calls are getting worse and worse. The video freezes constantly, audio is crackling and breaking up, and as of recently it's dropping calls- 9 out of 10 times! I've tried sending video messages and pictures from my media, & I'm being charged for doing so but I don't see where they've been uploaded to our conversation, nor does he? Although i'm able to recieve his!?
1 ★ This app is atrocious! 😡 When your inmate calls, you have to open the app, click around everywhere until everything starts populating correct amounts and names and such, then you MIGHT get to answer the call. That's a good day. Bad days include calls not popping up but you feeling it vibrate or hear it ring. I mate not being able to call out to you for no reason. There are times it shows I'm online and they call but I never am, so it causes inconvenience in schedules. Also skips and eats your $
1 ★ Concept is great, but as MOST the other reviews agree this app is basically awful. If we had options we'd use a different one. Glitchy calls, even on stable wi-fi / cell signal video takes forever to connect (being charged the whole time), & face is blury, voice is choppy. This isn't a tech issue (see other reviews) it IS an app issue. Recently you have to click to agree to "Terms & Conditions" - done, but still asks each time. App constantly logs us out so we have to check on the regular.
2 ★ Its alright but most of the time i dont get my calls. It takes awhile for it to connect for the video calls. While its connecting the time is running and we lose time and cant get it back so i'm losing alot if money on here. Most times i can barely hear the party on the other end. It's a horrible experience. Calls are being dropped also so i dont know if the guards are doing it purposely or if they are just dropping.
4 ★ Home Wav app Honestly something had to be done about calls from people who are incarcerated. This is a very big improvement compared to expensive collect calls! Everything worked good the only thing i would change is the notifications! They come 2 or 3 in a row and very random at times! Not even when i had messages or when the other person was actually online,as stated in the text sent.
3 ★ Since the update I have been unable to share photos. It is a problem with permission to storage but there is no way to give permission. If this gets fixed I would gladly give it 5 stars. (The app & calls do free occasionally and drop calls but overall is better than nothing and happy to be able to communicate with my family.)
1 ★ I have constant issues with video freezing or the audio being extremely choppy. The issues of not working are far more frequent than it working properly and its wasting my money. This is the only way to visit with my inmate so its frustrating that its not working. I have full signal both with wifi and cell coverage when it glitches so Im positive its something with the app.
3 ★ I cannot hear the inmate while in a video chat but hear static instead; yet the video messages we send back and forth to one another are clear. I don't know what interfers with our phone calls but it wasn't like this for us in november, also, my phone service has had excellent service. Please help fix this issue, I really appreciated being able to see and hear him clearly. Hopefully I can give feedback again after this is fixed because then I might say this app is as good as anyon could ask for.
2 ★ Frequently the app misfunctions in some way. Out of the $50 I've spent on this app only 2 5 minute video calls functioned without issue. This was out of countless calls. Types of issues - only images working no audio Audio coming not through speaker but through ear peice. Seemingly causing issues on both ends of not being able to hear. Getting disconnected as soon as getting connected These were the most frequent issues.
