It is the only association that seeks to meet all the needs of Thalassemia patients and support them financially and morally by assisting in the medical and social issues of Thalassemia patients throughout the UAE. The Emirates Thalassemia Society seeks to achieve a noble goal of spreading health awareness to prevent disease among members of society by avoiding the birth of children infected with the disease.
Establishment:
The Emirates Thalassemia Society was established in 1997 thanks to the efforts of the parents of Thalassemia patients.
By a ministerial decision on 10 October 1997 from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (Ministry of Community Development) currently No. (285) for the year 1997.

• Assisting Thalassemia patients and their families.
• Communicate with other international associations and institutions for the purpose of sharing information and experiences.
• Encourage and follow up medical and therapeutic research related to thalassemia.
• Organizing awareness programs for the community to control the disease through awareness lectures, videos and explanatory manuals in cooperation with the concerned authorities.
• Provide moral support and encourage blood donation at the state level, emphasizing the importance of blood donation to Thalassemia patients to preserve their lives.
• Alerting those who are next to marriage to the importance of conducting pre-marital medical examination.
• Encourage Thalassemia patients to be productive members of the community by creating suitable jobs for them.
• Organize fund-raising programs to fund the needs of thalassemia patients.
