Acatistele are prayers that ask especially intercession of saints besides God to help us or deliver us in time of need and trouble. They are not part of the seven Laude ordinance nor the other services of the holidays of the year, but will be read at any time, except watches ministry of the Church, at the request of the faithful and their various needs. They are called unsettled (in Greek ahatistos), because during their sit down in the pews, but standing or kneeling before an icon of the saint to which we are moving our prayers.

Acatistele consist of several hymns and prayer to the Savior, Saint Mary and other saints. These songs are called Kontak and icoase. Each oikos end with Hail, bride, ever virgin (or Hail, holy ... etc) and each condac ends with Hallelujah I repeat pew.

The oldest and the most important and most used of unsettled is Acatistul Virgin Mary or Annunciation, composed of 25 songs of praise to the Holy Virgin. It was composed by Sergius I of Constantinople (386). Reads especially Matins of the fifth Saturday of Lent, that is to Denise Friday night. We are in the order of a Ceaslov.
